Clear copper body that throws up a huge, loose head of foamy tan. Sweet malt aroma, little to no hops. Sweet, light, one dimensional, but i suppose that is the style. I prefer Ambers with more hop presence, but this one is excellent if a smooth, light, sweet ride is what you seek. Thanks to my SS for this one.

Amber color with a light head. Aroma is very grainy with a bit of bready/sugary sweetness, but not all that appetizing. Flavor of cheap grains and an odd molasses-hay mix. Not really good at all - drainpour. Duck rabbit makes such good stuff, both session strength (porter, stout) and high ABV (Baltic Porter, scotch, IS), but this is sub-par. I can’t hold it against them though.....

Courtesy of elmatador00. Thanks James! Pours a beautiful clear amber with a sudsy tan head that fades to a spotty film. The aroma is an intense caramel malt, biscuit and toasted bread complex with minimal fruity hops poking through. The flavour is toasted bready malts with earthy hops and some ambiguous fruity notes. The body is thin and the palate duration is short, leaving almost no flavour on the finish. If anything, there is some hop bitterness and biscuity malt in the finish. This is an enjoyable, drinkable and complex amber that represents its style well. I am perplexed to why it is rated so low.

I had this beer with Drink4Satan during one of our weekly beer tastings. It has a nice thick head with large bubbles, also it has a dark redish brown color to it. The aroma is full of malt and caramel with some hints of toffee. This initial taste is very woody and creamy with some hints of malt. There is not much of a bite it is a bit more creamy. The palate is very woody and creamy which coats the sides of your mouth and lasts for a decent amount of time. Overall this is a very good amber ale.

Bottle from ucusty. Clear amber-red pour with a rocky-frothed head. Nose is dried toast with and acidic side...and a bit like gravel. Flavor is sharp biscuit malt that leaves the palette very quickly. Some hops, but not enough to warrant a mention. No real finish on this beer. Reminds me very much of an extract pale ale I’ve made...with that extract twang that sometime surfaces. Not bad, but not a typical amber in my book. Thanks ucusty!

12 oz. bottle from Suttree. Best before 11/07. Pour is clear red-mahogany with a one inch off white head. Aroma of biscuit malt and some slight fruit (dried orange?) sweetness. Taste of caramel biscuit, with a somewhat smoky palate and a touch of hop bitterness in the finish. Tasted very well made, and one of the more interesting I have had in this style.

12oz bottle, . . . enjoy by 09 07 (with an amber I’m not so sure it matters anyway) courtesy of Nachlamsie, thanks Ben! Clear orange brown with a 1/2 finger beige head, pretty good retention. Aroma is quite toasty with some sweet caramel malts and a touch of nuttiness. There are also some bready notes and a touch of earthy hops--I kinda had to dig for the hops, though. Flavor was pretty much the same with plenty of toasty malts again with even some hints at roasted malts. Lightly "fruity," but I won’t elaborate any more than that. Bitterness in the finish is about a 2 with some light saltiness that quickly fades. Moderate smooth carbonation with a medium body. This seems a bit more like a brown ale than an amber--maybe I’m just used to ambers sucking and being a waste of time. This isn’t. A good amber--don’t really understand why it’s score is so low.
