the duck rabbit seems to have a little problem with over carbonation. this beer and a couple others had explosive heads that just filled up the glass as soon as the beer hit it.....but anyway. clear dark amber with a huge tan head decent lacing. aroma piney hops with a nice caramel malt backbone. bitter piney hop flavor dominates with nice nutty caramel notes. bitter spicy nutty finish with tart green apple notes. medium body with extremely fizzy carbonation. decent hoppy amber but nothing fantastic.

I received a bottle of this through my first trade with ross. Thanks Ross! -- The Duck-Rabbit Amber Ale pours a clear amber color. Depending on how the light hits the glass, shades of red, orange, gold, copper, and bronze all radiate out as well. There is also a large, foamy ivory head that falls slowly and leaves a thick, creamy crown. The visible carbonation is lively. This amber ale has a sweet aroma filled with lightly roasted malt and some honey. The flavor is also quite sweet with some honey, caramel, and yeast in it. The finish has a roasty character with some mild bitterness. The palate is average. Overall, this is a very satisfying amber ale and probably on of the better ones out there. I personally enjoyed this beer and feel that it is underrated. This is an amber ale that one could drink all day long and never grow tired of it... 12 oz bottle, Enjoy by 1/07.

Bottle and served in a pint glass. Amber hued with a fading fizzy head and initial good lace. The aroma has notes of spicy hops, sweet toffee malts, earthy yeast esters and a hint of apple. The taste sadly does not match the nose, a basic malt sweetness with just a hit of bitters and some fruity notes. The finish is strangely chalky and burnt. The mouth feel is lively enough but the aftertaste kept it from being as enjoyable as it should. Blah...next

This beer sucks-I cant even say anything good besides I had a good buzz. I was expecting MUCH better. And I bought it in Asheville, so I know it wasn’t old.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry -- my bottle courtesy of ross. Wow, I can’t believe how low this beer is rated -- these guys are capable of such great beers, what gives? Pours a clear ruby-amber with a large lasting off-white head. Aroma is sugary sweet with yeast, sweet malt and spices. Taste is pretty much the same but what mostly works in the aroma doesn’t work in the flavour -- not very good. Medium bodied. Amber Ale? This isn’t on style at all and a big disappointment, especially knowing what Duck-Rabbit is capable of.

Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, his bottle via trade with ross. Clear bright copper with a huge long-lasting shaving cream beige head, like an ice-cream float. Sharply peppery/spicy aroma, malt hiding behind, quite mild ultimately, a bit sweet with some celery notes and stale apple cores on warming. Taste is icing sugar, rubber bands, spinach greens with a ferric finish. Light body, astringent and moderately vegetal, bitter beet-like aftertaste. Odd - tastes like a Québec-brewed ambrée.

Pours a reddish brown with a small head. Smell is a deep wood and earthy tone. I like Duck Rabbit alot but can’t say that I cared for the aroma of this beer much. Taste is much more mellow flavor is of soil, wood, with a slight sweetness. An interesting aftertaste that is hard to describe.
