Poured a amber color (!) and quite dark, I thought I was getting a quality beer, with a large white head. Aroma was somewhat pleasant, quite sweet with a nice hoppy note to it. Taste was quite terrible. I really did not enjoy this beer. kind of like rancid dishwater, needs some work. Adam77 (407), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA

Aroma of caramel malts.
Taste malty, caramel, good roasted profile light hoppy finish and coffee touch in the middle.
Smooth finish with a brown sugar / cookie dough like palate.
Good stuff here. ben4321 (1041), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 23, 2009 Location: A friend of mine picked up a 6 pack of 12 oz bottle on a trip to NC. Drank this one 3/23/09.
Aroma: Nose is earthy malts, fairly faint
Appearance: Nice looking beer - thick, chalky off-white head, Dark copper/gold color, lots of lacing
Flavor: Some sweetness, lightly toasted, not much else
Palate: Light/Medium body, a little dry on the tongue
Overall Impression:
Really good looking amber beer, but the nose and taste aren’t up to the initial impression. I can’t quite put on finger on the missing elements, but it could use some improvement. Itzjerm (70), Harvest, Alabama, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Dark Amber beer. Very flavorful, flavors of coffee but very light. Caramel flavor, light on the hops as well. Very toasty flavor as described by others. In all a very excellent amber. noncaloric (625), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 15, 2009 Thanks daknole. Hazy copper-colored beer, large yellowish head that never quite dissipates, abundant lace. Cidery malt aroma. Flavor has cidery and husky malts with a quinine twinge of bitterness at the end. Thin to medium body, slightly dry, carbonation is effervescent on the palate. BanjoDude (28), Kingsport, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 26, 2009 Although I do enjoy the complex malts in this brew, I find that it is somewhat light bodied for an amber ale. I do enjoy the aroma that comes along with amber ales, so that is a plus. If you like amber ales, this is not the best but it beats the hell out of an AmberBock...
