| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 23, 2009 12 oz bottle via trade with mreusch. Pours an opaque black with a brown head that soon dissipates to a fine film. The aroma is big and bold with coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, licorice and a touch of alcohol. The flavor, like the aroma, is complex and bold; dark chocolate covered raspberries on lightly burnt toast comes to mind. This is quite an impressive explosion of flavors. The finish is long and biter-sweet with licorice and walnuts. The mouthfeel is smooth with a little bit of grit on the back end. Overall: I’ve been trying to land this one for a long time and it did not disappoint. One of the best porters that I have ever sampled. Thanks Matt. juiceisloose (677), Windermere, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 22, 2009 Pours a dark brown body almost black with a small, tan head that settles quickly to a thin film. The aroma is really nice and shows notes of dark chocolate, toasted caramel, coffee, and dark fruits. The flavor follows and is very malt forward with the dark fruits soaked in chocolate followed by roastd coffee and creamy caramel. Really nice flavor combinations. Medium-full bodied and smooth with an almost creamy texture and perfectly carbonated. A nice long finish with bittersweet chocolate left behind that makes you want to come back for more. Just a great baltic porter. I need to get more of this stuff. jhumphries69 (731), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 19, 2009 On tap at The Brick Store. Pours opaque black with a thin, tan head that leaves lots of lace. The aroma is intense - fruity, roasty, with a noticeable bit of alcohol. There are notes of sour cherries, coffee, and licorice. This beer has a huge, pulpy nose - great. The flavor starts with some roast and lots of fruit - mainly cherry, but subtle banana and raspberry, too. Chocolate abounds here, too. The malt profile is chewy with sweet caramel and fruit towards midpalate. The middle of the tongue finds some earthy, tarry hop bitterness and lots of rich molasses and chocolate - all with a subtle acidity. The finish is full and bittersweet - mostly sweet - with a fruity chocolate aftertaste and warming alcohol. The mouthfeel is quite rich and full in body with some acidity and subtly biting (though somewhat soft) carbonation. Overall, a very unique dessert beer that is big and incredibly complex. travita (1966), Frisco, Texas, USA

Black body, with a small but very pretty brown head. Flavor is powerful, sweet-tart, fruity, chocolate, and cannot fail to make an impression. Lengthy finish, where the alcohol begins to show its presence. Strykzone (1497), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 16, 2009 Thanks OldGrowth! Black pour with a tan head that lasts only moments. Nose is delectable with cherries and vanilla. It is very sweet. Flavor is rich offering wood, alcohol, coffee, and chocolate covered cherries. Feel is amazingly thick and smooth if a bit powdery with a bit of fizz. This is an incredible beer. I cannot imagine a better porter. markwise (1200), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 15, 2009 Thanks retorp for the share. Pours a dark black with a nice beige head. Nice yellow lace upon swirling. Aroma is dark chocolate, vanilla, with some noticeable coffee pieces. Flavor has roasted character and some bourbonyness. Velvet and sweet; I could get this as an everyday beer. It does share a lot in common with an imp stout. kiefdog (1637), Tampa, Florida, USA
