Bottle from Ucusty pours black with a thick tan head. Smells like alcohol, roasted malts, and licorice. Tastes like licorice and a complex array of malts. Finish is smooth and silky. Very tasty.

Bottle. As sweet as this baltic porter is, it is not cloying — balanced by roasted malts and licorice. Opaque brown pour with a frothy, but short, head that diminishes quickly. The enticing aroma is sweet with molasses and caramel. There are strong notes of roasted malts and licorice and hints of sweet chocolate and plums. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. Dry, bitter finish. Medium body and watery texture with a middle-of-the-road carbonation. The body was less full than expected and perhaps that is one of the reasons this seems like a dangerous drinker — clean throughout. Very nice, indeed.

12oz bottle: Pours deep brown, nearly black with a swirly tan head. The nose is sharp with lots of sweet chocolate and sugary raisins. Notes of plums and cherries as well. The body isn’t as chewy as expected, I am assuming to the lagering. Bitter chocolate and cherry juice are upfront, with a second surge of fudgey chocolate, vanilla, coffee and nuts. Finishes really sweet, almost cane sugar sweet. Interesting and complex.

Poured from a 120z bottle and is a dark amber black with a small tannish whie head that leaves a sticky ring at the top of the glass. Very malty roasted aroma with some chocolate notes as expected. Chocolate notes are strong upon first taste and have some raisin/fruitiness that comes through in the roasted malts. Very rich but smooth. Not too overwhelming and has a nice body. The finish is nice and not too strong considering the 9% ABV. Unfortunately this isn’t a session beer for me also because of the alcohol. I’d like to try more of this if I can and enjoy this baltic porter style so I was quite happy with this beer and look forward to other Duck-Rabbit offerings.

12 oz bottle from ucusty, thanks Dave. Pours a pitch black with a small tight coccoa colored head. I was expecting your run of the mill burnt roasted aroma but was nicely suprised with lots of sweetness. Aroma of dark fruit, fresh tobacco, rum and chocolate coverd cherry liquour candy. Oily slick body with very light carbonation. Flavor is sweet like the aroma with lots of cherry, chocolate and tobacco. Once again the Duck-Rabbit is quacktastic.
