Commercial Description:
The Duck-Rabbit Baltic Porter is deep, rich and velvety soft. A full blooded roasty character is balanced by complex alcohol notes. Strong (9% alcohol by volume) yet unfailingly subtle, this special brew warrants sipping and savoring.

Pours a murky dark brown colour with a small tan head. Nose is earthy, roasted malts mild coffee and copper. Initial taste pours over the palate with a creamy coffee. Smokiness, roasted malts & mollasses make up the background character. Cocoa is also present in the mid palate. Finishing with dark chocolate and mild coffee. Chalky dry finish that leaves your mouth nearly complete parched. Alcohol is well masked. Medium to full body. Palate duration gets cut short with heaping stop from the chalkiness. Good head retention and some lacing of the glass.

Pours like a strong impy with deep brown color and a dark tight bubbled head. Nose is strongly soy. This is my first Baltic Porter, and I don’t think it’s for me if this is one of the best. Taste is dry and heavy, reminiscent of a beef stick. The mouthfeel is pretty good, but overall, I wouldn’t go to much trouble to find this one.

DARK DARK DARK! Took me a couple of sips to get used to this beer. Pours oil black, and tastes of a mix of roasted malts and chocolate. Definitily one to just sip on and enjoy!

bottle. Awesome, awesome, awesome. aromas of chocolates, roasted malts, some hops. alcohol was extremely well hidden. finish duration lasted for what seemed like minutes. Not sure what else to say but this was by far the best beer made by this brewery and one of the best beers.

Thanks to my bro, through Ross, for this one. Pours black with a diminishing mocha head. Aroma is licorice, blackberry, and a milky chocolate (ie. Nesquick). Taste is rich with chocolate undertones, malty, molasses, slighly carbonated yet very silky smooth.

(Bottle (best by 6/07) via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=3 target=blank>Ty5592, thanks Ty!, cellared for 9 mos. after trade) Just a freakin’ treat!...Pours very, very dark brown with a thin brown head that recedes to almost nothing. Rich, pungent aroma of molasses along with some dark brown sugar. Hints of prunes, raisins and licorice dancing around. Wow this smells great!. Mouthfeel is full and thick. Carbonation is low and loose. Very lightly oily. Very light weepy lacing. Flavor is monstrously rich, roasty molasses with some brown sugar, licorice and malty dark fruit elements. No alcohol apparency. Awesome.

Nice nose. Blackest black color. Silky smooth finish and a nice sweet malty backbone. Yummy.
