Commercial Description:
The Duck-Rabbit Baltic Porter is deep, rich and velvety soft. A full blooded roasty character is balanced by complex alcohol notes. Strong (9% alcohol by volume) yet unfailingly subtle, this special brew warrants sipping and savoring.

12 oz bottle coutesy of TURDFERGUSON - thanks a bunch. Pours a very dark brown with a small, tan head. The aromas is of dark chocolate and raisins. Dark chocolate flavors along with coffee, smoke, and a little fresh berry tartness. Every-so-slightly bitter finish. Very good.

12 oz bottle thanks to drewbeerme and blankboy. Lots of chocolate on the aromas. Roastiness too. Flavors were more of the same. Chocolate some Coffee, and a nice porter dustiness. Very very good.

Pours a dark brown with slight froth. Smell is a little soft, not much going on there. Taste is roasted coffee and cocoa. It also has a sense of fruit going on that is pleasant. Mouthfeel is smooth but a tad too carbonated. This is a easy drinking beer that slightly shows the 9% abv. It’s not very sessionable, after one, I think I’ve had enough.

Much thanks to OldGrowth. Pours with moderate viscosity. Deep burgundy brown body with a velvety tan head. Amazing aroma of rich melted caramel, fruit-laced dark chocolate, and fresh coffee. Nice rum raisin character in the flavor. Meaty fruit quality develops as it warms. Pleasant velvety texture, but not overblown. The cynic in me was surprised how good this really is.

Bottle courtesy of Moejuck: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of coffee and roasted malt is dominant and enjoyable. Taste is dominated by dry coffee notes as well as some light bitter roasted malt. I was expecting more chocolate notes then I could detect and the beer was a bit more dry then expected. Body was quite full with some medium carbonation and no alcohol was discernable. Overall, while this was a very good beer I thought it was slightly too dry for the style and I can’t figure out why this rated so high but again I am probably not the biggest fan of the style to begin with.

12oz bottle from Turdferguson. Thank you Slam. This is from my first of hopefully many beer trades. The pour is midnight black with almost no head into my Narragansett pint glass. The aroma is sweet chocolate, raspberries, soy sauce, and coffee. The first sip is thick and tastes like chocolate covered strawberries. Now I am halfway through this beer and I can barely detect the 9% abv and the chocolate /coffee flavors are still going strong. The finish is more soy and fruit. I think that the soy flavor could come from the alcohol and hops that are mostly covered by the super sweet flavors. Wow. This beer was enormously complex and way too easy to drink. These 12 ounces disappeared too fast. Now I can’t wait for the imperial stout that I have lined up from this dank NC brewery.

Black , tan creamy head. Soft rich nose of sour cherry, milk chocolate, and mild roasted coffee that rides a nice vinous wave. Tangy sour cherry and winey flavors blend well and balances with dark malty, roasted coffee, and light chocolate tones from start to finish. Medium bodied and slick, moderate carbonation, dry, light tangy, bittersweet finish. Very well made. Thanks for the bottle Springslicker...
