| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 21, 2009 Bottle from the cooler-behind-the-cooler at Chuck’s Fine Wines. The beer pours nearly pitch black with a medium brown head that dissolves to a film eventually. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark chocolate covered raspberries and cherries plus a bit of coffee. Rich and smooth body with flavors of coffee, caramel malt and tart fruits. Nice chocolatey character throughout. The finish is moderately bitter coffee balanced by sweet malt. Very good, possibly the best Baltic Porter around. valpoaj (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 20, 2009 Pours black with a very thin head even with a rigorous pour. Aroma is roasted malts, some mild fruit notes, and some alcohol...muted, yet still present. Flavor is very smooth...roasted malt, dark fruits, a bit of smoke, hints of chocolate and smoke, and just blends together beautifully. Palate is very nicely done...this one drinks very easily. Nice offering...great Baltic!
