Thanks Santa! Poured a brilliant red-mahogany color with a foaming beige head. I like this malt forward barleywine, with its huge caramelized lightly fruity malt nose and flavor. Hops are slightly resinous but are there for balance mainly, which I like in a barleywine (as opposed to some extra hoppy ones). The only thing detracting here is bites of peppery alcohol in the finish.

From a 12 ounce bottle, thanks to the dude at the release of Cuvee de Castleton who was sharing this. Poured about 4 ounces into a plastic cup and this beer was incredible. Strong alcohol taste, definite hops and almost a sweet syrup taste. A great beer would love to try more from this brewery

12oz bottle from iowaherkeye. Thanks. The aroma was of cereal grains, citrusy hops, molasses, and alcohol. Poured a clear reddish orange color. The head was off white with good retention. Very fruity and sweet on the tongue. Medium bodied and a little sticky. I tasted orange pastry, fruit liqueur, pear, and cotton candy.

Very large head of varying sized bubbles. Quite the large head for a BW. Piney hops aroma with some decaying grass and vegetal notes. Bit of caramel. Color is a crimson brown. Slightly metallic flavor with lots of sweet malts and a slight hops presence. Flavor is quite mellow. Thick and syrupy with loads of caramel and toffee. Oily mouthfeel yet super smooth. Finishes warm and sweet. A decent yet somewhat mellow barleywine.

Bottle. Body-dark almandine body with a medium foamy body and nice lacing. Very attractive. Nose-spoiled milk, cabbage, and something odd that I can’t put my finger on but that I would not call good. Taste-much better than the nose, lots of metal, brown sugar, metal, apple, peach, coconut, metal, marshmallow, medium to high sweetness, corny, medium dark fruits and spices, cherry liquor, cherry syrup, amaretto, big berry flavor, fruity, cantaloupe, powdery

Bottle courtesy of hellllllbilly. Pours a hazy maroon with one finger tan head. Nose is brown sugar, nuts, dark fruits, bready yeast and molasses. Taste is bubble gum, nuts, burnt caramel and plums with a slight bitter hop finish. Full, creamy mouth feel. A touch sweet, but what barley wine isn’t? Decent BW. Thanks Josh!
