Pours a clear dark amber with a massive beige head. Nose is fruity and a little sour. Taste is....weird. Not like a Barleywine...more like a...strong ale? Everything is subdued..there are spicey/earthy hops, lots of yeasty fruity easters, some toffee...but it is all muted..almost like a barleywine on Nitro but without the silky mouthfeel, as the carbonation is moderate. Thin body for a BW.... MrBendo (1048), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is a little off-putting; grass, alcohol, brown sugar, citrus and plums. It’s got a plethora of flavors, and none of them seem to go together. Slightly astringent finish. Nose of light piney hops with a little plums and prunes mixed with caramel; rusty red with a medium straw colored head; flavor of sweet golden raisins, caramel, in a mediumthick body and a slightly bitter and light alcohol finish. Good barleywine, underrated IMO! masonjer (564), Holt, Michigan, USA

I am a little surprised this is rated so low. I really enjoyed it. Pours a deep orange-red. Nice half inch white head. Smells of sweet pine and citrus. Taste is fruity, caramel, finishes on hops that quickly fade leaving you ready for another sip. I thought it was nicely balanced, my kind of barleywine. MaxxDaddy (263), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2007 Bottle courtesy of TURDFERGUSON (thanks!). Pours reddish orange with some off-white head. Aroma was rather sweet, perhaps peaches (that’s a first for me), with slight piney hoppiness in the background. The taste was pretty sweet, plenty of caramel and fruity taste, and not much hoppy bitterness to speak of. Mouthfeel was somewhat thick and not too bubbly. The alcohol was certainly well-concealed. This certainly wasn’t a bad beer, but I must say it was a little too sweet. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 5, 2007 From a trade with Shigadeyo. Pours a clean dark amber with a big off white head. Big lacing and decent carbonation. Great looking pour. Aroma is sort of a sourish fruit. I can’t put my finger one it. Maybe apricot?? Flavor is quite fruity. Plum, maybe soem raison, malts and sweet hops. Has a thick mouthfeel and is warming in the gut. I liked it. Crosling (1856), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 28, 2007 Firey orange color. Big head. The nose doesn’t offer anything of distinction...just a very light smell. Flavor brings some super sweet malt and some unusual fruit flavors. Some nice elements in the flavor, such as the caramel-like finish, but for the most part this is weird and below average. hopdog (5622), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
