Bottle (best by 12/2007) courtesy of my Secret Santa. Pours a murky mahogany with a supper thick, foamy tan head. Aroma of toffee, vegetal notes, an odd sweetness. Flavor of sweet malt and vegetal notes. A little too sweet/vegetal, even for an aged barleywine. This is far past its prime. Hopefully I will be able to rerate this again fresh. 6/4/5/3/12 (3.0/5)

Bottle. Nose is sweet and slightly roasty. Caramel, cherry, chocolate, and faded hops. Ruby red to slight brown with long lasting white head. Flavor is clean and balanced with cherry and caramel at the forefront, subdued citrus hop finish. Good body, no alcohol presence. Creamy and thick body.

GABF 2008. Deep amber brown. Very toasty caramel nose. Rich, heavy english toffee malt married to a massive spicy hop load. Slightly earthy, very sweet and sticky, with a dry bitter finish. Delicious.

Bottle. Thanks to DMechla for hooking this one up! Clear burnt orange color. Not a lot of head, but retains what it has throughout. Flavor is dry slightly charred malt, some oak, a bit of ripe fruit. Finish is slightly sweet, leaves a bit of sugar on the tongue. Alcohol is present, but mild. Hard to tell this is 11%. Body is smooth and a bit creamy. Overall solid.

Pours a very hazy brown sugar color that almost looks like melted sugar. Definite light lacing. There is a little tan head. Aroma is caramel and alcohol. Flavor is, first alcohol, malt and grain. The flavor is overpowered by alcohol. There are sweet caramel notes to the flavor. Body is medium and creamy with high carbonation.
