Commercial Description:
An American brown ale brewed with loads of hops from start to finish (it’s hoppy and beautifully bitter). Amarillo hops in the boil provide a spicy citrusy bitterness. Saaz dry hops in the fermentor provide a refined flowery aroma. These hops are supported by a grain bill of seven varieties of malt.

This is a decent brown ale. The color is a nice dark caramel brown. Looks very good. The head is nice, but it fades away rather quickly. There is a decent nutty, and roasted aroma coming off of the beer. There is also a bit of a malt sweetness aroma. I find the aroma rather pleasing. The beer is on the verge of watered down. There is not much body to speak of. I wish it had a thicker palate, or smoother palate, is to say the same thing. The beer has a dry aftertaste, and I don’t life that all. I am enjoying the nice roast and nutty/caramel flavor, and then comes this dry bitter crap at the end. What the hell? As stated, the intial taste is great. There is a nice roast and nut flavor, and then there is this bitter dry aftertaste. I LOVE hops, but they are trying to do too much in this one beer. They should have allowed the roast and nut flavor to just ride until the end. Decent brew.

Appearance: Pours a clear, reddish-brown body with a small, ivory-colored head. Smell: Malty aroma with a few flecks of chocolate and dark caramel. Touch of grains. Light floral hop character. Taste: Maltiness represented by chocolate and caramel with a mild sweetness. More pronounced grain flavor. Slight nuttiness. Light, spicy bitterness scrubs away the sweetness and leaves you with a lingering finish. Mouthfeel: In the neighborhood of medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Much better than when I first came across this beer back in November ’05.

The aroma is chocolate, toasted malt, and coffee. The appearance is brown with a very large head. The flavor is like the aroma and very bitter. The palate is very smooth from carbonation. The finish is almost burnt and metallic. Overall it’s disappointing with the nicest quality coming from the carbonation.

12 oz bottle. Chestnut, clear with minimal head. A bit nutty with a sweet malty presence that is enjoyable. The flavor is similar to the aroma in that you get plenty of nutty flavors and a pleasant malt presence. Medium round body. This is good, simple and generally easy to drink. I think people will like this one at the tasting.

This beer has a spicy caramel flavor mixed with the hops and a hearty mouthfeel. There is a sweetness that lingers afterwards,

Bottle thanks to shp555 thanks Steven! Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Man this looks like a Belgian. The aroma is mostly sweet candy and hops. The taste is really surprising; a bitter hoppy bite with some citrus and a sweet malt. Kinda like a BW. A good beer.
