Looks nice, a burnt amber color with small cream colored head. Aroma was very nice, smells fairly nutty, but the taste is like burnt malt to me... BückDich (4847), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Bottle: Dark mahogany, thick tan head, tons of lacing. Nose of noble hop bitterness and metallic malts, very light roast. Acidic mouthfeel and a vaguely roasty flavor on top of some carob and an overabundance of lame cheap hop bitterness. The flavor is lacking, leaning more towards dry/bitter/acidic vs. the slightly sweet, caramelly mellow brown ales I’ve come to love. Duck Rabbit is certainly across the board here. Weird brown ale, I don’t like. SSSteve (2064), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Head is small, tan, frothy, slowly diminishing, mostly lasting.
The aroma is malty with a light note of toasted grain, moderate biscuit and caramel; Hoppy with a light floral note; Yeasty with a light note of basement; Perhaps a trace note of diacetyl; Full of house character.
The flavor is moderately/heavily bitter, lightly/moderately sweet with a long, lightly/moderately bitter, lightly sweet finish.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.
Not as capturing as the brewery’s other offerings. I’ve had this one many times and still appreciate its hoppy character, a somewhat more bold take on a style I generally disregard. Nice and floral aroma, with just a bit of malt sweetness coming through but not quite matching the sharp tang. Collint (458), Sylva, North Carolina, USA

Aroma is caramel, light touches of chocolate, and citrus. Taste is inbetween light to moderately sweet with some caramel and a touch of chocolate and toasted malt, as well as light citrus and earth. Medium bodied. This was well done for a brown ale, enjoyable. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA
