Aroma was floral, mixed citrus, nutty, lgith chocolate, toffee...the hoppy end of a brown ale. Flavors of the same a decent hop bitterness but a bit extreme for the style. Some roasted malts and dark chocolate with some nuts and roastiness that lingers. cbkschubert (2008), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

Nice lacing. It took awhile for the head to settle. Aroma is toasted caramel malt. Flavor is roasted malt. Dry palate. Light to medium body. Has a lingering dry, roasted aftertaste. A decent beer. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Bottle: Pale cola in color, large frothy sand colored head, patchy lacing.   Dirty roasted malt and gritty earthen nose, slight coffee and lactic notes.   Quite earthy, soily, gritty, and lactic on the tongue.   Raw coffee beans, moderate hop bitterness, a little ash and charred wood.   Not malty enough.   Body and mouthfeel are a little spritzy.   Best by date is this month, so perhaps its on the way down?   I certainly don’t think it should be this lactic and foamy.   This one deserves a re-rate me thinks.   Thanks to Suttree for the bottle!

Doughy brown sugar malt, light roast & chocolate, and faint herbal hops in the aroma. Well balanced up front, finish is bitter & herbal hop flavored. Chocolate mid palate along w/ some caramel. Light toasty malt, brown sugar w/ a dry finish. Aftertaste is bitter chocolate. Light medium body, medium CO2, dry, almost astringent m/f. Overall a clean American brown... Not an outstanding beer, but a good version of an American brown ale. adrian910ss (1435), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Looks to be a dark brown but when it is held up to the light you can see it is a very dark amber color with a medium light tan head. Nice lacing also. Aroma is chocolate, malt, hops. Quite earthy. Flavor is bitter hops, pine, nutty, sourish malts. Thanks again Phil. donrajin (233), Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, USA
