Bottle from Ross, thanks Pours a deep hazy brown color with thick frothy head like a root beer float. Aroma is of floral citrus hops, roasted malt, and a slight note of chocolate. The hop bouquet really dominates the aroma which is different for the style. Taste is citrus (orange) hop up front followed by a roasted malt flavor and a bit of dryness and chocolate in the finish. This one interesting brown ale. Thanks Ross!

Bottle. Caramel and roast and toffee, balanced sweetness in the nose. Loads of chocolate and malt. Fainter notes of nuts and maple syrup. Deep red pour with a pretty, firm, lacing, rocky, creamy tan head - scoop it with a spoon. Restrained initial sweetness really dries out in a hurry; strong, bitter hoppy taste is surprising for style, permeates the whole experience and lasts long after the swallow. Again, roast, caramel, and now stronger nuttiness complement the strong layers of very dark chocolate and now earthy mocha. Spritz of citrus in the middle and back. Medium-light body, smooth and dry. Unified, complex, rounded taste, and for pure taste, not unlike a certain Düsseldorfer Alt. As of this moment, by far the best brown ale I’ve found.

Dark brown/ruby. Small, thick, tan cap. Roasty brown sugar, generous dose of earthy bitter hops, a bit resiny inthe finish. Medium body,balanced. Solid, very drinkable.

12oz bottle via trade with decaturstevo. Aroma: Toasted malt with notes of caramel, nuts, and toasted bread. Some citrus comes through as does a light chocolate aroma. Appearance: Dark brown with some chestnut highlights. Khaki head was big, full and frothy with great retention. Really nice lacing. Flavor: Toasty flavors come through well with the nuts and bread coming through strongest. A touch of coffee, too. Light yeastiness, floral, and citrus notes. Medium bitterness. Semi-dry finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Not my favorite style, but a good beer nonetheless. Toasty flavors were nice, as were the hop levels and bitterness. Good beer.

Poured from a bottle. Had a big, think brown head. Thought this beer tasted heavier than most brown ales. Could really taste the toasted malts. Also a heavy flavor of nuts.

A deep red beer with a lazing light brown head - the color is not dark enough to be a brown ale! The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of berries. The flavor is sweet with light notes of roasted malt, nuts, and towards the end also metal. The end is slightly bitter. The carbondioxide tickles the tongue while drinking.

Aroma was somewhat light carmel and nut, taste however was much bolder, a solid mouthful of nut malt and roasted flavor, with a balancing grain hop taste, and a lucious hop bitterness in the aftertaste,has a slight carbonic bite. A well done ,very drinkable brown ale

12 oz bottle (Enjoy by 12/06) from decaturstevo. Thanks! -- Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale is a clear dark brown color with a large, thick, and frothy beige-colored head. The head collapses quite slowly and leaves a cloud-like lacing pattern. The aroma seems to be yeasty with hints of citrus. Flavors of chocolate, roasted nuts, and something fruity in the background mingle together to form a deep malty flavor. The finish is lengthy with a slightly dry, roasted coffee-like flavor and bitterness. There is an orange-flavored hop bitterness infused in the flavor that pairs with the other flavors surprisingly well. It has a medium body and is fairly smooth. Overall this is a well balanced beer and interesting beer. The flavors that come out in the finish is the best parth though. The dark malt flavor and citrus hops pair together to make this Brown Ale quite unique!
