Commercial Description:
An American brown ale brewed with loads of hops from start to finish (it’s hoppy and beautifully bitter). Amarillo hops in the boil provide a spicy citrusy bitterness. Saaz dry hops in the fermentor provide a refined flowery aroma. These hops are supported by a grain bill of seven varieties of malt.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of brown sugar, malts, slight hops, toasted grains, light chocolate, slight toffee, and light nuts. Poured brown/deep orange in color with a small tan head that lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is slightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of roasted malts, slight chocolate, burnt nuts, metal, burnt grains, and a hint of bitter coffee. Medium body. Lightly chalky texture. Soft to average carbonation. Burnt malt, burnt, nut finish is slightly sweet and slightly sticky. Smells good but tastes pretty poor.

One 5 oz sample of a 6 beer sampler at 3 son’s in Wexford, nice place. Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Supposedly by the DR owner. Looks a little darker than ginger ale. Mild hop fragrance on the nose. No head, just a tea froth. Nice earthy feel on the palate. Enjoyable fro a lager lover yet has some hop personality. Rather friendly at first then begins to morph into back of throat bitterness. Sparkles nicely in the glass. Medium bitter linger on the finish. DR brown S5L3F2T408

Bottle Pours a nice clear amber with a decent off white head. The head leaves at first but settles nicely with a thin lasting amount. It lace pretty well. The aroma is well balance hops at first then sweet malts. I get nice caramel. Has a good carbonation and a nice mouthfeel. Has some real well balanced flavors. A little hoppy with a decent malt kick. Has a medium body. A watery texture. A good solid finish with a good aftertaste. This is a darn good beer.

Bottle. Pours a nice deep copper- brown clear and a thin head. Aroma is very roasty, bitter black chocolate malts, green hops and hints of metallic. Flavor is very sharp, bitter, roasty, dark chocolate, herbal hops, and a bit of copper- slightly harsh a bit too refined and harsh in the end.

A - Crystal clear, nice carbonation, solid/lasting head with significant lacing down a clean glass, medium brown in color with a red tint when held to light. Nice looking beer. S - Not a very aromatic beer. Mild/burnt malt/bready flavors but the aroma doesn’t really pop. T - Burnt/caramel malts followed by bitterness. Not a lot of hop flavor, but the bitterness does balance well with the malt flavors. I would like a little more hop flavor, not bitterness, but flavor. M - High carbonation but thin feeling beer. D - Above average beer and very sessionable, but not a very complex beer. Would certainly drink again but wouldn’t be a brown I would make a point to go out and find.

Bottle courtesy of sebletitje. Pours a generally hazy dark brown with reddish highlights and thin tan head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of floral hops, brown sugar, roasted coffee and toffee, some notes of caramel and honey. Flavor is sweet and floral with notes of floral hops, citrus, pine, brown sugar, molasses, some hints of caramel, toffee, honey. Generally medium body with a floral hop and malt finish. A little too hoppy for the style IMHO.
