Commercial Description:
An American brown ale brewed with loads of hops from start to finish (it’s hoppy and beautifully bitter). Amarillo hops in the boil provide a spicy citrusy bitterness. Saaz dry hops in the fermentor provide a refined flowery aroma. These hops are supported by a grain bill of seven varieties of malt.

f-i-n-e One fine mama jamma. Exquisita. Mi tipo de birria me quedo con esto 4a verguiada consecutiva a las pajaritas lloronas. Quien es su tata?

GABF 2008. Mahogany brown. Sweet caramel aroma, with a subtle fruitiness. Brown sugary malt, interesting hard-to-pin down fruit element (may unroasted hazelnut?), reedy bitter finish. Interesting and tasty. Certainly the lightest of the 3 I tried from this excellent brewery.

Bottle. Poured a dark red/brown with a two finger tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and floral hops. Flavor was bitter, with roasted malt and bready flavors. Good beer.

tasting at GDBTF on 10/18/08. big hoppy brown ale. pours average brown color with some tan head. soft on palate. medium body. really hoppy for a brown ale - really took this one up a notch. Normally I think brown ales are kinda dull - - but Duck Rabbit has added some life into their brown ale.

This one did grow on me after a while. I liked the hoppiness but would have enjoyed a more prevalent malt character to boot. Not bad at all, but I definitely think that the porter and milk stout are the better of the nonseasonal brews. It wasn’t as rich and complex as I was hoping, and after I got over this, it was enjoyable.

12oz bottle pours a garnet brown with a massive fluffy light tan head that dissolves down to a dollop of cream on the surface through the glass. Aroma is light roast and slightly hoppy. Flavor is initially sharp & bitter followed by a malty mid palate featuring toasty & bready notes with a definite roasted flavor. Citrus hops come in to wash out the malt and it finishes bitter and somewhat astringent/minerally. Medium body and ample carbonation. Overall it’s somewhat perplexing as the different flavors seem to step on each other and the finish becomes unpleasant at times.

12oz bottle. Bottle opened with a loud pop. Clear, medium - dark brown color; Oversized tan head. Big floral hop aroma. Roasted barley character just short of the coffee/smoke notes of a fine porter. bold bitterness. toasted malts, nutty caramel, molasses. Balanced by a pine hop bitterness. A well hopped American Brown Ale.

Courtesy elmatador. Pours a dark brownish red color with a huge, pillowy tan head that settles to a thick film. Huge chunks of lacing spread across the glass. The aroma is of sweet caramel malts, roasted nuts, and hops. The flavor shows the caramel sweetness and roasted nuts up front but are quickly washed out by the large amount of bitter hops. Medium bodied and a touch thin on the body and overly carbonated. The hops really show themselves with a long, bitter finish. Maybe a touch too bitter for me. Not a bad brown ale, but not my favorite.
