Commercial Description:
An American brown ale brewed with loads of hops from start to finish (it’s hoppy and beautifully bitter). Amarillo hops in the boil provide a spicy citrusy bitterness. Saaz dry hops in the fermentor provide a refined flowery aroma. These hops are supported by a grain bill of seven varieties of malt.

Draft in Boone, NC. Pours a dark brown color with a small light brown head. Nose is chocolatey and roasty with a nice, dark fruit note almost. Maybe some dates or raisins. Palate is full and fluffy, like velvet. Flavor is light chocolate and roasted malt notes with the dark fruit mixed in.

On tap at RFD in DC. Pours a hazy brown with a medium sized light beige head. Light nutty malt, toast. Medium bodied, light almost sourness to it, tangy with some nice nutty notes. Finishes up with a little bit more almost sourness (bad tap maybe?), and some roast and toast flavors.

Chestnut brown with a tall tan head that clings to the side of the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, and hops. Flavor of roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, and hop-bitter finish. Very nice beer for the style.

12oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazed medium amber with a faint reddish hue, a big beige head left some nice lacing. Nose holds some floral hops, chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor starts with some cocoa dust then finishes roasty and quite bitter, a good brown.

Brown ales are not supposed to taste like this one. Too hoppy and bitter. Change the name to ESB, would have been better. Part 4 of six on my SC nov 09 trip
