Nice light tan head that diminshes quickly. Aroma is roasty malt, coffee and chocolate. Flavor is sweet roasty and a good bite of the coffee. Body is medium with a good clean mouthfeel. Balanced and delecious! checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 3, 2009 Bottle: Poured a dark black with almost no head. The aroma was roasted malts and sweet chocolate. The flavor was milky smooth, sweet roasted malts, chocolate, and a touch of coffee beans. Overall, this is an excellent sweet stout. LooseCannon (914), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Oct 25, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours dark brown in color with very thin tan head. Aroma roasted malt and chocolate. Taste roasted malt, chocolate and coffee with bitter finish. wlminter (10), Virginia, USA Oct 22, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours black, with little to no head. An interesting beer that mostly works. For this beer they added lactose to sweeten up the stout. Yes, lactose, as in, that stuff that gives you muscle cramps. This mostly works, but at times it seems as though the taste of the milk and the taste of the stout are at odds with each other, so the flavor can be a bit schizophrenic at times. Overall fairly good, but I think I might like their plain porter better. Kuzo (32), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 22, 2009 Pours a very dark brown with red highlights when held to the light. Very thick bubbly head. Not very much on the nose but does smell a bit like an iced coffee with cream and sugar. Mouthfeel is light with a smooth and creamy consistency. Taste is very similar to the nose with some bitter chocolate and roastiness. This is a decent beer but not my style. NCBeerBoy (12), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Oct 13, 2009 Pours black like the good stout that it is. Aroma is caramelly. Flavor is toasty grains. It’s flavor is unique..
