| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Pours brownish black with a gigantic rocky head. Aroma is not unlike a english stout. Aroma is slightly lactic sour milk, some roast. Mouthfeel is medium to light with a nice cream feel with some good unexpected carbonation. Flavors are chocolate, roast and smoke the lactose is a little more subdued than I expected (good thing) and brings a nice balance to the brew. This is a solid milk stout highly drinkable and recommended. Sparky27 (1641), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Pours dark brown with a 2 finger tan head that leaves spotty lacing. The nose is milk chocolate, ashy cocoa and roasted malt. The taste is chocolate milk, light coffee, sweet cocoa and roast. Medium creamy bodied. Solid Sweet Stout. Pastor (534), Maine, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2009 Thanks to brentk56 for sending this want along in his black booty package. 12 oz bottle pored into a pint glass it produced a two finger tan head that lasted. The body was deep dark black again no light comes through this one either.
There is a sweet aroma of malts and lactose is dominant in the brew. The flavor is rather nice sweet roastiness medium feel in the mouth and a little to much carbonation for the style for me.
A nice milk stout rather unique in it flavor component but drinkable .I think it is a good example of a milk stout

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2009 12oz Bottle. Malted milk ball, sweet molasses, a pinch of black tea, and a backdrop of roast malt. Not so coffee-like. Pours a dark brown, with a clear reddish edge and a rim in creamy tan. Flavor is prickly and backed with distinct milky sweetness. Light silk. Interesting balance with the roast. Really solid balance between the lactose and the dryness of the roast character and alcohol. Great, long bristling woodsy finish, ripe with pine boards and dry leaves. Solid and clean. A good gummy hop juice and some mixed cookie graininess. Delightful. Borderline porterish. Otherwise, a fantastic dark beer. Thanks Joe and Piper! jhumphries69 (736), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Mar 1, 2009 Draft at Taco Mac. Pours black with ruby brown highlights and a thick, fine-bubbles, light tan head. The aroma is roasted grains with some malt sweetness and subtle chocolate milk. The flavor starts malty and lactose-sweet with subtle notes of chocolate cookie (not unlike on OREO cookie). At mid-palate, there is a lot of sugary, creamy, chocolatey sweetness. The finish is full with a coffee note. The mouthfeel is rich and velvety with nice bubbles and a full body. Overall, an enjoyable milk stout: very sweet and rich. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2009 One of my favorite beers...pours almost pitch black with a medium tan head, no lacing. The roasted malts jump out of your glass and have an extremely pleasant aroma. Very balanced with a slight coffee/chocolate tone of taste. Just sweet enough and just bitter enough... noncaloric (629), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 23, 2009 Updated: Mar 8, 2009Thanks ucusty. Pours dark brown, almost black. The modest beige head leaves no lace. Aroma is mostly anise, with a hint of smoke. Flavor is also roast-malt domiated, mostly anise, but with a strong cereal backbone, hot oatmeal, fresh grits. Some chocolate and smoke on the backbone. Despite being very smooth, somewhat thin bodied.
