Aroma: Huge amounts of walnuts and coffee in the nose which is accompanied by hints of marzipan. Flavor and palate: Sweet lactose. Extremely pleasant. Smooth with a slight bitterness. Very nicely balanced. Dry finish. Overall impression: Great taste. Highly enjoyable. Bov (5455), Bienne, Switzerland

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 25, 2009 12 oz bottle compliments of Beerlando. Pours a very dark pour, black with dark brown notes, hazy body, and enormous fluffy brownish head that laces. Aromas are wonderful: heavy on roasted malts balanced by a milk chocolate and vanilla sweetness with a touch of coffee, onset by the lactose. Very welcoming. Initial is roasted malt and light bitterness, complimented by coffee and milky creaminess that takes the edge off. Roasted malt, mixed with vanilla and cocoa. Well balanced, medium bodied, head dissipates to a decent level. Pretty damn good extra from Beerlando. Cheers! cheapdark (2017), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 21, 2009 Bottle from Lowe’s Foods in NC. Nice roasty volatile aroma and it does have a faint milkish background. Coal black pour with a little sediment on the bottom but the brew is not opaque. Has a thin tan head. Friendly dark beer initial flavors of an old wet burned campfire log. A little stronger than I care for in a sweet stout. Alky shows thru readily. This is not quite as smooth as most sweet stouts, it even approaches the offensiveness of many impy stouts I’ve had and I guess this is why it is so highly rated on this site. Yes, many of the attributes of a imp stout, wew. Burned charred meat linger for a few minutes. Second bottle gets difficult at times. StFun (535), Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 17, 2009 Nice Milk Stout. Pours a rich black with a brown, thick head. Aroma is lots of lactose and roasted chocolate. Nice flavor, chocolate milk with extra roast, brown sugar, and just a touch of hops and marsh mellow. Almost like drinking a s’more. Thick and creamy mouth feel. Very nice. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 15, 2009 Bottle from Secret Santa: Thanks! Pours a deep brown with an amber hue and a creamy dense tan head. The aroma is roasted barley, a touch of milk chocolate, earthy cocoa and graham cracker. Very nice mouthfeel with substantial creamy carbonation. Silk and cohesive taste with chocoalte, mild roast, milky/lastose sugar, and a smooth nutty roast in the finish. Very smooth, well integrated and highly drinkable. I liked this stuff. markwise (1186), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 14, 2009 Pours cola brown with a tan head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, and chocolate. Flavor is very drinkable chocolate, coffee, and mellow vanilla/milk presence. It matches Left Hand Milk Stout on many levels, but so much fizziness detracts from the beer. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 6, 2009 12oz bottle pours deep black with a nice fluffy brown and tan head. It lasts a long time. Big time coffee and roasted grain aroma. Nice body, but a bit thin for my liking. Very smooth beer with a good coffee, vanilla, and cream flavor. Easy going down. Great sweet stout.
