Brown with a medium tan topper, airy and rolling back into the liquid. Aroma of dark and roasted malts, chocolate, lactose sugar and seaweed. Okay, I’m kidding on the seaweed. Taste mimics the aroma with some mild peat qualities. Not too sweet. Decent but nothing spectacular. pantanap (1375), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 20, 2008 courtesy of mcbackus. beautiful color with a light head. wonderful roastiness overpowers lactose. higher carbonation than most stouts, but lends to the mouthfeel. tastes like a malt ball with dark chocolate. Probably one of the best milk stouts I have had recently. merlin48 (522), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA

Aroma of milk chocolate and herbal hops. Taste has a ton of milk chocolate sweetness, edged by a pleasant herbal and grassy hop bitterness. Nicely done. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 21, 2008 Bottle thanks to daknole, this beer has been on my want list forever, thanks man! Pours a wonderful dark color with some reddish light showing through. A large and creamy brown head. The aroma is full of roasted malts, coffee, milky notes, very decadent. The taste is awesome; initially a roasted malt and coffee combine with a near sour flavor, later a ton of sweet caramel, chocolate and coffee come in. Loads of milky sweet flavors, and a great full and creamy mouthfeel. This style, when done this well, I will always love. k4df4l (154), DTown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 21, 2008 A/A: Poured a pitch black w/ very thin burlap colored layer of foam. The bubbles dissipated quickly leaving on a few stragglers on the surface. Not much aroma coming off this one; some faint roasted malt & coffee with a faint lactic sharpness
F/P: Very smooth and mellow, still strikes me as being similar to the last house stout I brewed w/ the chocolate malt addition (w/ some extra caramel & lactose added). Flavors of roasted grain, coffee, bittersweet chocolate & coca combined with the back end sweetness of the lactose then into the mild sharp sour lactic flavor revealed in the aroma. Moderate body and light-moderate carbonation.
This milk stout has a nice composed feel to it, as the ingredients all blend well and yield a nice smooth beer. Skinnyviking (4193), Copenhagen, Denmark
