Commercial Description:
A traditional full-bodied stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar). The subtle sweetness imparted by the lactose balances the sharpness of the highly roasted grains which give this delicious beer its black color.

bottle. outstanding milk stout. pours a deep black with little head. aromas of chocolate and licorice. sweet on the front of the palate... medium to thin body. smooth and creamy finish with notes of licorice. this is a very enjoyable stout... very drinkable and definitely a repeater for me.

Pours very dark brown with huge froathy light brown head. Aroma is of sweet licorice. Flavor very bitter, almost harshly so. Way too much carbonation. Flavor reminds me of coke with licorice in it. In not way tastes milky or sweet. Not good.

Bottle. My introduction to this brewery. Aroma isn’t really there, a few light hints of roasted malt. Has a fairly sweet flavor, but very subtle with a light taste of roasted malt. Definitely easy to drink, but leans towards the bland side. Pretty watery body.

Pour a wonderful brown ruby clor with a light brown head. Had an awkward milky aroma. Coffee like taste with hints of chocolate milk, had a thin feel it. Weird sweet finish that was thin as well.

Something seems wrong with this aroma as well. Not creamy but it is decent enough. Has a sweet coating finish. Okay enough.

Pours a deep amber black with a small beige head. Aroma is medium sweet chocolate, coffee and a touch of almond. Flavor is sweet milk chocolate, roasted malt and chocolate covered cherries. Medium to large body, creamy texture. Finishes dry and chocolate sweet.

12 oz bottle courtesy Durhambeer. Pours a deep dark brown with a thick off white head. Nice big roasty grain aroma with hints of sweet malt. Taste is big roasty grain character with a hint of lactose. Very well balanced and a great session stout.

12oz bottle shared by xnoxhatex. pours dark brown with big fizzy head. nose is sweet milk chocolate, dark fruit, and licorice. flavor pretty much follows the aroma. a bit fizzy mouth feel. some more roasted malts, a fully body, and less fizzy carbonation would help this out a bit.
