| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 24, 2007 Pours black opaque into the glass with a huge "4+"-finger head, tan and reminiscent of chocolate mousse. The retention is decent, and leaves a thick sticky lace. The nose contains some chocolate milk, roasted grains and slight (ever so...) vinous notes. Sweet and toasted chocolates, roasts and tiny bitters (which add character to the finish). The body is medium, the mouthfeel smooth and creamy. This is a very nice sweet stout. Another great dark offering from the Duck-Rabbit brewery. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 21, 2007 12 ounce bottle given to me by my coworker Freida from her last trip down home -- thanks Freida! -- and served at cellar temperature from a Corsendonk glass. Beautiful creamy fine-bubbled dark tan head tops the jet, nearly opaque body, decaying slowly and evenly and leaving chunky lacing....aroma of milk chocolate and light roast, not overly sweet nor overly exciting, a bit of licorice perhaps....body is evenly balanced between sweet light chocolate and moderate to dark roasty grains, from the beginning to the finish, a bit of milky-creamy character, a touch of dark berries, very smooth, very quaffable, but a touch boring perhaps....ends just as sweet as it begins. A nice beer, but a little underwhelming for me -- high expectations and all. MaxxDaddy (263), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 18, 2007 Bottle courtesy of pantanap (thanks!). Dark brown/blaqck with large foamy tan head. Aroma is very pronounced in this one, definitely get the lacto-smell (at least that’s what I think I smell), along with roasted malts. Taste brings more of the same, with some sweet chocolate flavor, which then leads to a slight coffee taste. This is only my second milk stout, but there’s something about the lactose addition that doesn’t do too much for me. Get some coffee/chocolate bitterness in the finish as well. This was certainly an easy drinker for a hot summer evening. alexsdad06 (1082), Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 17, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a very dark brown almost black color with a large tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is sweet chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor has a solid roasted malt presence with chocolate and cocoa. The lactose present causes this to be sweet. A little bit of bitterness shows up more in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium. This was a decent find in Myrtle Beach which in past years had been a beer wasteland. alobar (1020), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Pours a nice jet black with minimal head. Sweet aroma with hops, and chocolate. Nice combination of hops, lactose, and chocolate on the palate. Best milk stout I’ve ever had. Thanks to richlikebeer. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 14, 2007 Thanks to brewblackhole. Dark color. Smell of chocolate, malt, strawberries, cherries, cinnamon, caramel, minor hops and some roasted coffee. Taste of roasted coffee, malt, chocolate, hops, cinnamon, fruit, brown sugar and caramel. Nice hop bitterness at the end with a chocolate dipped strawberry mixed in. hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA

Similar description as below - up a notch. More roasted flavor noted Original 3.8Columbia, SC. - Flying Saucer - on tap. Part of the "Carolinas Flight". Dark black pour, sweet, coffee and licorice aroma. Flavor of licorice, coffee, dark chocolate, marshmallows. Thickish mouthfeel. Very enjoyable - like what I see from this brewer for the most part.
