Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout pours out a very dark brown color, but pretty much looks black in the glass. It seems a bit thin-bodied on the pour, but maybe it’s actually not (I’ll find out soon enough!). The HUGE (picture a glass half filled of liquid and the other half filled of foam! tan head collapses slowly and ultimately leaves a thin crown that’s a bit thicker around the edges. A sweet, creamy, chocolate aroma is interlaced with some roasted malt in the background. The flavor is roasted malt and cocoa, but there is a heightened level of sweetness that would normally not be there if it weren’t for the lactose (hence "milk stout"). The finish is also sweet with a smooth cocoa bitterness at the very end. This beer goes very well with the milk and dark chocolates that I’m nibbling on! As previously suspected, this beer and a medium body and has a bit more carbonation that I would have liked. In addition to a more full body, I was also hoping for a creamier texture. Oh well, this beer is still pretty good and reminds me a lot of the chocolate stout I made awhile back...

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 31, 2006 Toasty, biscuity malts and plenty of chocolate in the roasty nose. Clear, darkest mahogany brown body is topped by a decent tan head that recedes to cover with some lace. Overly roasty and dry initially but chocolate sweetness emerges especially as it warms. Medium body is quite dry with moderate carbonation. Bottle sampled with BeerPrince, CapFlu, frink and Oakes. TheBeerOrg (1586), Kentucky, USA

Aroma of coffee, dark roasted malt, and sweet milkiness. Taste is roasty, smoky, coffee, licorice, small amount of lactose. Mouthfeel is full bodied with lively carbonation. Pretty roasty for a milk stout, but still good. Ughsmash (4074), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 29, 2006 Bottled. Poured a clear mahogany with a medium creamy cap of beige head. Nose picked up sweet roasty chocolate, milkiness, and other dark sweet sugars.. smelled quite nice. The flavor flowed well from the aroma... on the sweeter end with lightly-roasted chocolate and latte milkiness.. left an almost coffee bitterness and mild lactose sourness at the finish. Lighter-bodied with a nice flow to it. Good stuff!
