Commercial Description:
A traditional full-bodied stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar). The subtle sweetness imparted by the lactose balances the sharpness of the highly roasted grains which give this delicious beer its black color.

Being lactose-intollerant, I must say that this beer is a forbidden fruit which makes me like it more. That made no sense. Looks good, smells good, tastes good.

Excellent milk stout. Good balance between bitter and sweet. It has that nice, distictive lactic character. Definitely worth a try.

Bottle, BB 11/06. Head is initially average sized, frothy/fizzy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate milk, roasted grain, molasses), trace hops (resin), with notes of berries, minerals, vanilla, leather, ashes. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. Quite delightful for the style, even though it’s not one I can get excited about (one of my least favorite stout substyles). Very intriguing nose and a pleasant mouthfeel.

12 oz bottle. Clear ebony with a crema head. Settles to a skin. Nose of sour cream and brown bread. Traces of smoke and licorice. Starts with a nice tang of sour apple. Silky body melts over the tongue leaving cream soda and dark chocolate. Aftertaste like a coffee, regular. Wonderfully drinkable for a stout. Like a cocoa at bedtime.

12 0z bottle via TurdFerguson (thanks!). Pours a near black color with a small tan head. Very nice sweet roasty aroma of toffee, chocolate and mocha. One of the best smelling beers i have sampled. Taste starts out with some sweet molasses then some chocolate and ends with bittersweet smoky salty woody taste that is very nice. I really am enjoying this one. Duck Rabbit is one of the best U.S. breweries i have sampled from.

Pours a dark brown colour with a small tan head. Mocha and grassy aroma. The flavour is coffee and semi-sweet choclate. The sweet milk chocolate taste in your mouth turns slightly drier on the finish. Medium bodied with a decent creamy texture.

(Bottle) Boozey, roasted coffee nose. Deep almond head with a deep reddish-brown body. Flavour is rich, smooth and thoroughly coffee which is short and a tad thin through the finish.
