Nose of sour cream and brown bread. Traces of smoke and licorice. Starts with a nice tang of sour apple. Silky body melts over the tongue leaving cream soda and dark chocolate. Aftertaste like a coffee, regular. Wonderfully drinkable for a stout. Like a cocoa at bedtime. frink (467), coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada

Very nice sweet roasty aroma of toffee, chocolate and mocha. One of the best smelling beers i have sampled. Taste starts out with some sweet molasses then some chocolate and ends with bittersweet smoky salty woody taste that is very nice. I really am enjoying this one. Duck Rabbit is one of the best U.S. breweries i have sampled from. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 26, 2006 Bottle courtesy of Springslicker: Pours an opaque black with a thin covering of tan head. Aroma of sweet milk chocolate and a touch of caramel with some roasty coffee notes. Body starts a little thinner but has a nice balance between the sweet caramel and chocolate malts and the bitter roasted malt along with a touch of bittering hops. Finishes smooth and enjoyable. I think this would make a great session beer. Thanks Jay! beerBB (132), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 16, 2006 From notes 12/20/04:
Pours a deep dark ruby, so much so that it appears black to the dimly lit room, but upon introduction to light, the rich ruby tones really shine. Head is short-lived, but when it is around, it exhibits a creamy tan nature. Little lacing. Aromas give the nose a treat with roasty malts, cafe mochas, and sweet sugariness. Flavors are very sweet, with virtual sugar crystals sticking to your lips with each sip. Roasty qualities are there, but the sweetness of this beer rules the day. Slight smokiness in the aftertaste. Minimal hop balance. Needs a touch more oomph in the body. Drinkable, though. This milk stout sure does utilize milk sugars. Sweet dessert.
