Commercial Description:
A traditional full-bodied stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar). The subtle sweetness imparted by the lactose balances the sharpness of the highly roasted grains which give this delicious beer its black color.

this beer, and in my opinion others of this style are the antithesis of quenching. they leave behind a sticky spit, heavy aftertaste that makes you thirsty for water. that said, aroma was roasted grainy, flavor had a sharp quick note of coffee chocolate before proceeding into sweetness. not areally big fan of the milk sugar.

Cocoa and a splash of coffee in the nose. Nicely cabonated. well balaced, simple stout.

Another huge thanks goes out to Durhambeer for this superb beer! This pours with tat espresso swirl head with a deep brown almost black color. Aroma is roasty coffee and chocolate, very nice. Flavor has plenty of chocolate and vanilla with enough roasty flavor and bitterness to keep it fairly balanced. Very good. Palate is particularly creamy and full.

Roasted barley character is nice. Not much of a milk stout, lactose is barely discernible. Nice mellow grainy dark malt character. Almost too mellow to the point of grossness. A bit vegetal.

Poured dark with very little to no head. The aroma was light coffee with milk. Taste like coffee with creamer that the beans were roasted first. Slight bitter after taste but not over whelming.

12oz bottle. deep brown pour with a small tan head. aroma of milk, coffee, roasted malts, smoke and herbs. roasted coffee malts up from then milky sour taste then the chocolate and the coffee. slick medium mouthfeel. seems a little like a cola.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine. Dark brown pour with virtually no head. Rich, roasted malt aroma that smells awesome. Also hints of chocoalte and coffee. Very smooth flavor with the above aromas very detectable. Creamy mouthfeel. I had not tasted this beer for a while but I am glad I decided to revisit this one. An excellent stout.

Deep brown, very slight head. Aroma was roasty and nutty. Flavor matched the aroma, with a hint of chocolate thrown in. Rather light bodied. Easy drinking stout, just didn’t get me fired up.
