Commercial Description:
A traditional full-bodied stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar). The subtle sweetness imparted by the lactose balances the sharpness of the highly roasted grains which give this delicious beer its black color.

black body with ruby highlights, no head, brown sugar nose with mild roast, extremely sweet sugar flavor, very cloying, too sweet to drink, this is the first drain poor I’ve had in years

Bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost black. An inch of head quickly fades. Sweet chocolate aroma... Flavors of milk chocolates and dark chocolates, with a bit of a sweet caramel in the finish. Nice.

Sample from Cornboy. Pour is dark brown with a small head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts, and vanilla. Flavor is full of coffee, dark chocolate, slight lactose, and a roasty finish. Nice.

From tronraner via trade. Expectedly dark pour with a maybe one-finger tall head and not much happening in terms of lacing. The aroma was lightly roasted malts, caramel and chocolate. The flavor was milk chocolate, roasted malt and a bit of tobacco. Mouthfeel is thin to medium.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep amber brown, about the color of cola. No head at all. The nose is full of coffee, caramel, roasted malt, a little earth, and a touch of wet dog. No carbonation and a medium-rich, slightly creamy mouthfeel. I find the complete lack of carbonation odd and it seems to throw things off for me. Chocolate, coffee, cream, earth and a bit of vanilla on the palate. A medium finish with some lingering chocolate milk and coffee notes. I think this one tastes pretty good, but could really benefit from greater carbonation.
