Nose is roasty, with some fruits coming through as well. Taste is roasty as well, with some hints of smoke, and that fruityness from the nose showing up again, with a tiny bit of alcohol in the end. Aftertaste is roasted, but faint. Medium body with a good smooth feel. Pretty decent porter. BlackForestCO (828), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Bottle thanks to DragonStout. Pours a deep brown color with a thick, rocky tan head. Aroma of light roastiness and a hint of vinous fruit. Weird biting crispness leads into a roasted malt flavor with undertones of chocolate and light cherry. Finishes smooth with a light smokiness that dries the palate out a bit. Like the Milk Stout, this was different, but still pretty good. I enjoyed this one a bit more than the milk stout though. gsmitty80 (653), Washington DC, USA

Tastes roasted but it doesnt have a smokey aftertaste like some. The addition of oats really give the beer a great texture and finish. jetboy (32), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 24, 2008 This was a great find. Not a very strong aroma, a smoky malty mix. The beer pours a dark black with a tan head. The flavor was very malty with a smoky undertone. The finish, and this may sound strange, was blue cheese. I really like this one and will certainly drink it again. AR (437), Georgia, USA
