Commercial Description:
Very dark in color. This robust porter features a pronounced flavor of roasted grains reminiscent of dark chocolate. Also, Paul and Brandon add oats to the grist to give a subtle round silkiness to the mouthfeel.

This porter poured, looked, and smelled awesome until I drank it. It was extremely wattery and sour almost. No flavor to it and I would never drink it again.(It was a bad one) Then i had another and wow, it was much better. Very malty and robust. chocolate aftertaste and really smooth. Much better the second time around for me

Bottle. Sweet backbone rounds out a nicely balanced porter. Inviting appearance with large, tan head atop a dark brown body. Aroma is sweet with toffee, dark chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic and lightly to moderately bitter. Sweet finish. Medium body with lively carbonation so much carbonation, in fact, that flavors are muted by it. Watery texture. Nice porter.

Thanks to Ucusty for sending this. Pours brown to black, clear, with a khaki head the size and consistancy of a Belgian saison. Toffee, graham cracker, lighter coffee, raisins and vanilla on the nose, smells pretty nice. Tastes of coffee, toffee, wheat thins, mildly salty, and kind of astringent. Finishes with toffee, hazelnut, and bitter roast. Very carbonated mouthfeel, too much for my preference. The aroma is excellent, but the flavor falls short by trading sweetness for astringency. Light bodied and thin, without really lacking anything. Again, nice aroma, but the rest? Meh...

12 oz. bottle, from drewbeerme. Poured dark brown and almost completely opaque, save for garnet highlights at edges, a huge tannish head left spotty lace as it settled. Rich aroma of dark fruits, roasty malts, unsweetended chocolate and floral hops. Flavor is bitter and roasty, dandelion milk and lots of floral and herbal notes, a bit of semi-sweet chocolate and molasses round it out. Medium to full body, smooth with gentle carbonation.

12 oz bottle thanks to pantanap for this generous gift. Pours a dark black with a soapy tan head that laces down. Roasted malts. Coffee a little chocolate. Medium creamy body. Really roasty. Coffee and bakers chocolate hints but lots of roast. Really nice porter.
