Commercial Description:
Very dark in color. This robust porter features a pronounced flavor of roasted grains reminiscent of dark chocolate. Also, Paul and Brandon add oats to the grist to give a subtle round silkiness to the mouthfeel.

12oz bottle, thanks kan for this extra. pours reddish dark brown with creamy off white head. nose has nice delicate dark fruits with a hint of raspberries and some baker’s chocolate. very fruity nose. flavor is red and dark fruits with a hint of roast and some chocolate coming through. pretty watery mouth feel. clean finish. a really fruity porter. why am i the only noting how fruity this beer is? 3.5

12oz bottle. thanks to xnoxhatex for sharing. this time the brew seemed really loaded with baker’s chocolate. very chocolatey like they brewed it with chocolate. nice porter, clean, low in roast, and a bit dark fruity.3.6.

12 oz. bottle from Suttree. Pour is all black, with a big (3 inch) khaki head. Head was quite lasting. Aroma of roast chocolate malt. Taste is more of the roasty chocolate goodness. There is a nice element of earthiness to this one as well. Nice full body rounds this out nicely. Very well done Porter, thanks for this one Phil!

Nothing real fancy or earth shatering. Just a good all around porter. Very balanced and true to style.

bottle....pours a dark chocolate brown with a huge overflowing tan head that is slow to disperse......chocolate malt accents in the nose with not much of anything else.....burnt and smoky roasted malts with a bitter roast finish. mouthfeel is light and fluffy but a bit watery. flavor could use a little bit of a boost in terms of sweetness and chocolate character....all in all, a very likeable porter.

Bottle from Duane. Very dark pour with a HUGE tan head that never really goes away. Actually had a hard time pouring this beer because the head was so large. Tons of roasted coffee bean aroma, just a hint of piney hop aroma as well. Flavor was the same. A bit on the thin and one-dimensional side. But the one dimension of roasted character that it’s got is pretty good. This is, however, very over-carbonated. Cut the carbonation in half and you’re drinking a much better brew. Thanks, Dad!

Nice and well balanced roast with a bit of cocoa and cereal grain. It has a big mouthfeel more so than most porters. Soft yet full on the palate with a nice dry finish.

Easily one of the roastiest, toastiest beers I’ve ever tasted. Pours straight black with a big, tan head that recedes. Dark and milk chocolate aroma with notes of cinnamon and root beer. Mildly bitter flavor brings the aromatics more into the realm of espresso with a few drops of milk. The drop of cocoa sweetness is swallowed by bitter espresso, which has the last lasting laugh.

Pours near black with a ruby hues and a thin wispy tan head. Aroma of coffee, toffee, and sweet roast. Taste is sweet, foamy roast, roast barley, chocolatey, toffee. Mouthfeel is full bodied with roast barley and lush carbonation.
