Commercial Description:
Very dark in color. This robust porter features a pronounced flavor of roasted grains reminiscent of dark chocolate. Also, Paul and Brandon add oats to the grist to give a subtle round silkiness to the mouthfeel.

An average porter, but with some bitterness. Coffee, dark malt favors. Somewhat flatter than what I like. I was frankly surprised because usually all the Duck-Rabbit brands exceed my expectations. This one met them, which is still good.

Poured a dark brown / red color with a small, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, toffee, vanilla, some chocolate, and light dark fruits. Taste of roasted malts, dried fruits, light chocolate, smoke, and some nuts as well.

Pours a deep brown with hints of amber and a medium bubbly tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, citrus, candy sweetness and various fruits. Flavor of roasted malts, some hop bitterness, cocoa, earthy and dry.

2007 12 oz bottle. Pours deep dark brown with some mahogany highlights and a fizzy tan head with little retention and no lacing. Aroma is of deeply roasted malts and floral dry hops. Flavor is grainy and roasty contrasted with a good dose of lively piney hops that give it an interesting balance. Finishes moderately dry but not bitter. Medium bodied with moderately low carbonation and a relatively smooth mouthfeel. Nice robust porter.

12oz - Aroma of dark malts, oats and cocoa powder. Pours black with a big quickly dissipating brown head and great lacing. Flavor matches aroma with some hop bitterness. Palate is dry and chalky and a little tart. Tasty enough but nothing special.

Pours a pitch black color with a ring of light brown lace. Good aroma of chocolate and roasted malt with a bitter finish. The body is medium with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. There’s nothing extraordinary in this beer but it’s a good porter.

This beer pours a dark brown color with a darkish head that is fairly light but stays around for a while. It smells of malt and barley and is a little sweet smelling but not overly so. The beer is lightly carbinated in the mouth and has a strong coffee taste. It is a little bitter. The flavor is fairly simple and straight forward. I love porters and this one’s okay.

Virtually black at the center with mahogany edges. Small, lumpy cream colored head that leaves behind minimal, spotty lacing. The aroma shows milk chocolate, coffee, and cream. Flavors include chocolate, vanilla, and heavily creamed coffee all blended together wonderfully. Medium body that is incredibly smooth, easy to drink, and refreshing. Short finish includes roasted coffee and chocolate milk. This one is a nice treat.
