Commercial Description:
Very dark in color. This robust porter features a pronounced flavor of roasted grains reminiscent of dark chocolate. Also, Paul and Brandon add oats to the grist to give a subtle round silkiness to the mouthfeel.

Bottle. Inviting aroma of roasted nuts, very much like a mild flavored coffee. Almost jet black color with a minimal head. The taste isn’t complicated, but it’s just what I want out of a porter with a pleasing balance between roasted bitterness, coffee, and very mild chocolate. This is as drinkable a porter as you can find. Not a knock your socks off beer, but a great representation of the style. Would buy again.

Bottle. Lactic, roasty aroma. Huge head on the pour. More lactic acid in the taste is behind a very bitter roast, lemon kind of... I don’t even know. Soggy and harsh. Not good.

One hell of a good porter. Nice body with plenty of roast, chocolate, and sweetness. If you want a good porter look no further.

Six pack from Total Wine in Huntersville, NC. Pours a very dark brown with a nice beige head. Aroma is dark malt, chocolate and a touch of caramel. Taste is smooth, creamy and has a touch of molasses to go with chocolate roasty good. My oh my, this is awesome. I’m definitely getting this beer again.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle via trade with Frumpy. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thick beige head that slowly dissolves to a fine head and lacing. Aroma of dark roasted malt, some sour cherries, caramel, and some chocolate. Taste is highly carbonated, smooth, creamy with flavors of sweet molasses, chocolate and a slight sour cherry. Finish is slightly sweeter than most of the other Duck-Rabbit brews with a dark roasted malt and chocolate tart aftertaste.

(bottle, thanks again Skyview) Pours a very dark brown with a khaki head. Malty aroma with not too much else. Flavor was mainly roasted malt as well with some chocolate hints. The beer could’ve been a tad bit thicker.

[Bottle, thanks Skyview] Pours dark brown with a medium tan head. Decent aroma--mostly malt. Good roasted taste. Body was a little thin. Long roasted finish. Nice beer.

Much thanks to Skyview for this pour. Dark brown color with foamy light brown head. Heavily carbonated. Sour cherries greet my nostrils at first. Some malty character eventually joins in. Very thin body with roasted malts and faint sour cherry. A little watery on the finish, but a very well done porter nonetheless.
