Commercial Description:
Very dark in color. This robust porter features a pronounced flavor of roasted grains reminiscent of dark chocolate. Also, Paul and Brandon add oats to the grist to give a subtle round silkiness to the mouthfeel.

[Bottle, thanks Skyview] Pours dark brown with a medium tan head. Decent aroma--mostly malt. Good roasted taste. Body was a little thin. Long roasted finish. Nice beer.

Much thanks to Skyview for this pour. Dark brown color with foamy light brown head. Heavily carbonated. Sour cherries greet my nostrils at first. Some malty character eventually joins in. Very thin body with roasted malts and faint sour cherry. A little watery on the finish, but a very well done porter nonetheless.

settle down big guy...dark brown/burnt umber pour with a super fluffy head that won’t go away. dark roasted malt aroma with burnt cream and something sour. creamy/oatmeal bodied. flavors of roasted malts, cola and, when warm a touch of coffee. there’s a smokiness that gives a little bitterness in the finish. tastes like it is missing something? thanks ucusty for the hookup...

Bottle courtesy of pantanap (thanks!). Poured dark brown with a hyperaggressive tan head formation. Had a roasty, nutty aroma. Flavor was somewhat the same, though a tad bland. I think the major issue here was the carbonation; way too much. It added a bit of an acidity to the beer that wasn’t all that welcome. Despite that, it was a semi-decent brew that had some drinkability to it. Overall, I say a somewhat disappointing effort from a brewery I really like. No matter, it won’t stop me from getting their other stuff.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown with red highlights under light. A large tan head fills the glass and hangs around for a visit. The aroma is heavy in sweet chocolate with some doughy/yeasty hints. The flavor has significant roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate. The medium mouthfeel finishes smoothly with a fair amount of bitterness.

Pours a thin dark brown with a thin tan head. Has hints of roasted malts and a semi sweet chocolate flavor. Finishes thin and roasty on the tongue.
