Commercial Description:
Very dark in color. This robust porter features a pronounced flavor of roasted grains reminiscent of dark chocolate. Also, Paul and Brandon add oats to the grist to give a subtle round silkiness to the mouthfeel.

Lots and lots of roast in here. The aroma has some chocolate that is quickly overpowered by the roasted notes. Bitter roasted coffee in the flavour, decent body for a style I constantly find too thin.

Bottle Dark pour with decent head. Aroma and flavor of roasted malts and chocolate malts. A bit of coffee in the flavor too. Good brew overall. Great name.

6.10.07 12 oz given by Adamskillin. A decent porter here. Good on appearance, aroma, and flavor, dark, roasty, and all that, but a little thin on the mouth, flirted with watery.

Coal-black pour, thick mocha head - sticks around a while - that and the cool duck/rabbit on the bottle earn it a 5 for appearance, Sweet marsmallow-like aroma with hints of vanilla. Sweet flavor for a porter with some marshmallow sweetness, a hint of vanilla but is balanced out with some good black dirt eatthiness. Finishes with some baker’s chocolate in the back end. Very thick creamy mouthfeel. Been seeking this out ever since I had a bad pour last summer at a bar in NC and was not able to rate it. Thanks to Aurelius for saving it out of his Ale in the mail shipment,

Duck-Rabbit makes good beers and this is no exception. Flavor-wise, I’ll say that this is a porter, and it’s basically what you’d expect- dark and roasty with some coffee and chocolate. I will say one thing though...this is only 5.7%, and I generally have a decent tolerance, but one of these knocks me out for some reason. I made the mistake of drinking two in a pretty short time and I was pretty much pickled. I sat and watched European Vacation and belly laughed at it while under the influence of the Duck-Rabbit Porter, take that as you wish.

Pours dark brown almost black with tan head. Light aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Taste was much of the same with the coffee coming through a bit more.

Good porter. Roasted malt throughout. Touch of coffee. Great aroma. Jet black with tan head. Nice.
