Especially to your boyfriend Rob for driving to the brewery to get this! Pours cola brown with a khaki head. Coffee and dark roasted malt aroma. At colder temps, it’s more dry and has very little sweetness, so I let this get to room temp. Then there is a tad more sweetness, lots of caramel flavor mixed in with black patent malt and nuts. Slight astringency in the finish, that has a mild peppery bitterness and some lingering tea like flavors. I appreciate that this one is not trying to venture into stout territory. More like what I think a porter should be, a blend of three different beers. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA

Typical Porter aroma with notes of vanilla, raisins, and mocha. Medium bodied. Creamy mouthfeel. Well carbomated. Toasted sweet malt flavors. Bittersweet malt finish. Hops in the background. Average carbonation. Aftertaste is fleeting with a bit of sweetness and then a little sourness..Is this an oatmeal stout? Tastes like one. lamas (718), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA

Pours a very deep mahogany with a BIG, creamy mocha head that leaves chunks of lace. Aroma of roasty coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, alcohol, a little smokiness and some dark cherries as it warms. Starts with a good bit of sweet caramel and dark chocolate. Finishes with a big, dirty graininess along with some bitter, roasty coffee. A skim milky smoothness and sweetness throughout. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 19, 2006 Opaque black with a thick reddish brown head (too dark). Lots of milk and mocha in the aroma that is accompanied by toast and dark, plummy fruit. Flavor is one with the aroma. The profile is nice from start to finish with a solid bitterness and lovely chocolatey/fugdey flavors. The only downside is that it has a salty aftertaste. I almost needed a glass of water after this to quench my thirst. Luckily...there was Duck-Rabbit’s Milk Stout within reach to do this for me. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

This one is instant gratification! Pours opaque noire, with a thin mocha head, leaving no lace. I wish there was more to the appearance, or the app score would be a 4. Aromas are pure black coffee with lots of instant booze, dark chocolate, american hops, and barley.Close your eyes, and this smells like a huge imperial. Excellent. Taste is well rounded black coffee, with slight sweetness from burnt malts, roasted nuts are here as well. Dark chocolate, slight sulphur, and a real acidic bitterness. FInishes astringent, almost lactic, but pretty full bodied, and tasty as all get out. WTF man, this is the definitive porter........no really, it is. Thanks Ross. This is Good, great, grand!
