Jun 30, 2009 Bonus bottle from adrian910ss. Thanks Adrian. Pours a slightly bubbling chocolate brown with a big light tan head. Bakers chocolate, malt, and candy sugar on the nose. Smoke, tobacco, oatmeal, warm melted dark chocolate, cola, and a slight floral note. Mouth is slightly chewy at first but smooths out. Medium dry. Nice robust porter.

Jun 22, 2009 This is another one Bob brought back from Myrtle beach and then brought out at the Father’ day party. Pours black with tan head. aroma is sweet with roasted malt and some cocoa. mouthful is smooth with cocoa and finishes a little tart. very nice easy drinking porter.

Jun 16, 2009 Bottle. Aroma of raisinets, burnt caramel, more general milk chocolate. In the mouth the dark fruits come out more with raisins, plums, a touch of prunes, as well as lovely earthy bitterness, to go with all the burnt caramel and milk chocolate notes, often bordering on mocha. Quite a classy porter.

Jun 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a thick light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, sweet malt, chocolate covered pretzels. Flavor of nice roasted malt and bitter chocolate with some vegetal notes. Nice sturdy palate. It wore a little on me...on the whole it is a decent beer though.

Jun 8, 2009 12 oz bottle thanks to Ethan. Pours a mostly black hue with a large foamy and sticky light brown head. The aroma is very nice; rich roasted malts, chocolates, light fruit. The flavor is similar; a rich and mellow roasted malt, light metallic notes, dark chocolates and milky flavors. Very mellow and very flavorful. An excellent brew. I love the DR!

Jun 7, 2009 quite a nice milky yeasty and pastry bun like quality to this porter in terms of body and flavor and for that matter pour. sweetish and silky i was instantly imrpessed. one of the very best and more importantly demonstrative porters i have ever enjoyed! though the flavor does dissiapate some after awhile out of the bottle. some chocolate in mocha.

Jun 4, 2009 Thanks Emacgee. Reddish-brown pour with a light brown head. Roasted malt aroma- some sweetness, a little chocolate. Nice roasted malt flavor that lasts in the mouth. The head lasted until the last drink. A nice introduction to D-R beers.
