Commercial Description:
Very dark in color. This robust porter features a pronounced flavor of roasted grains reminiscent of dark chocolate. Also, Paul and Brandon add oats to the grist to give a subtle round silkiness to the mouthfeel.

Bottle. Pours a very dark chocoalte brown, small tan head that disappates quickly. Aroma is bakers chocolate, slight coffee and licorice. Flavor is again chocolate, roasted coffee and licorice, all with a sweet malt base. Smooth and creamy finish.

Not much head. Aroma is of caramel sweetness and burnt smoked poopy malt. Carbonation is low, yet stinging. Body is full but not coating. Finish has more caramel, burnt, smoked poo malt unfortunately (it’s not that bad really, just not great). Not much for chocolate or coffee in this one. Little bit of anise.

12 oz bottle that was an extra from lithy. Thanks. pours an opaque black with a medium tan head that is clumpy and has fair retention. The aroma is strong with dark roasted grains, coffee and dark fruits. The flavor is earthy with raisins, burnt toast, mocha, dark chocolate and anise. The finish is medium in duration with lingering dark biter chocolate. The palate starts a bit thin and then builds to a creamy finale. Overall: A very well concocted porter, much enjoyed.

Thanks to brentk56 for sending this want along in his black booty package. Bottle poured into a snifter produced a two finger tan head that trailed of to a thick lace. The body of the ale was black in color no light getting thru at all. Aromas’ of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate filled my head flavors are true to form heavy towards the roastiness but still enough sweetness to keep it drinkable. The mouthfeel is a tad light for my liking but it dose have good carbonation. This is a good drinking porter rather average in a lot of ways but good flavors in it as well. I would drink it again but have had better.

Pours very dark coffee brown with a nice tan head. Aromas are strong roasted malts, caramel, coffee, and some chocolate. Flavor is mainly roasted roasted malts with a little coffee,, earthiness, some hops, grains, and a little spice. This is highly carbonated and has a medium mouth feel, a silky consistency, and a dry finish. This is an good porter full of roasted flavor. Not the best, but very good.
