Commercial Description:
Very dark in color. This robust porter features a pronounced flavor of roasted grains reminiscent of dark chocolate. Also, Paul and Brandon add oats to the grist to give a subtle round silkiness to the mouthfeel.

Duck-Rabbit Baltic Porter pours up intrepidly tantalizingly with a wispy tawny colored head that barely tops the nearly opaque dark brown-black body. The rich malty aroma is reminiscent of malted milk balls with some sweet caramel, dark chocolate, and roasted coffee character. The underlying fruitiness carries some earthy black currant, dates, and fig notes along with some nuances of rum, treacle, and licorice. Alcohol warmth is noted, but cloaked well. The satisfying flavor is bold, rich, and roasty with plenty of chocolate, cocoa nib, & espresso notes that stops short of being burnt. In addition, there’s some earthiness, fruitiness, and toastiness that drive the complexity. The silky smooth chocolate finish is bittersweet with some nice warmth for the soul. This medium-full bodied Baltic Porter is finely crafted and makes for an enjoyable fireside sipper. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, I would call it a duck. Is it a Duck or a Rabbit? You decide. CHEERS! Beertracker *Taster’s Note: Special thanks to nflmvp for the bottle.

From a 12oz bottle this Porter pours a black color with a nice tan head. Nice coffee aroma with plenty of roasted malt, toffee and chocolate scents to go along with it. Nice roasted taste as well along with a smokey-chocolate aftertaste. Nice carobonation and creamy mouthfeel. Solid Porter.

Bottle shared by pilsnerpeter. Deep brown-black beer. Thick creamy dark brown head. Lovely aroma. Rich milk chocolate sweetness followed by a soft earthiness. There is a kiss of smoke on the back and there is some lingering caramel sweetness. Earthy, chewy and very tasty.

Pours very dark with a whitle/lite brown forming head. Smell of chocolate malts and very smooth feel in the mouth. Fantastic Porter.

The aroma is very toasty with heavily toasted malt, coffee, chocolate, plastic, licorice, and a certain offness. The appearance is dark dark brown with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma with the plastic chemical offness ruing everything else that you get from the malt. The palate is thin for a porter. I am not sold on this one. However there is a nice nuttiness to the finish. Still, it has too much in the off department to really enjoy.

Bottle: Thanks Secret Santa! Pours a dark brown with a ruby hue in the light and a dense khaki head. The aroma is nice with chocolate, mild roast, dark caramel s’mores, and peppery character. Fluffy and creamy texture. Smooth flavor which is chocolaty upfront with mild smooth earthy roast, peanut suggestions, toasted graham cracker and a nutty finish that has a touch of smoked or peated malt character. Very smooth and drinkable.

Courtesy of - I’m sorry, I have forgotten :( - It is black-brown with a red hue and a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate and cocoa. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, cocoa and a very light, dry bitterness in the finish. The notes are very clean roasted malty, and it is uncomplicated, easy and pleasant to drink.
