Old note, found in bottom of file cabinet, good aroma, very sweet, though not strong, honey, roast malt, chocolate. nutty. Brownish black color, little to no head, Sweet bitter flavor, chocolate, sugary. Thick body, creamy mouth feel, dry finish. Really enjoyed this, flavor really wow’d me. Hot on the finish, but at 14% not surprising. This definitely changed my outlook for meads.

Carolina Crew Gathering Greenville, NC. Thanks to Frumpty, facto, and of course Paul for this one. Nice roasty and sweet nose. Flavor is very sweet with honey and chocolate. Chocolate syrup abounds the palate. An awesome mead unlike any I have ever tried. Keep the braggots coming!!

Carolina Crew Gathering Greenville, NC. Thanks to Frumpty, facto, and of course Paul for this one. Dark viscous pour. Big honey aroma. Big and malty with notes of roast, cinnamon, and chocolate. Sweet honey finish. A touch too sweet for me, but what the hell do I know?

Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville - thanks to Ryan and Facto for sharing! Dark, somewhat oily pour with an almost serene stillness to it. The nose is pretty lovely, combining the darker qualities of the RIS - bitter choc and roasted malts - with the truly endless honey character of this brew. That supple sweetness just goes on forever. In fact, as impressive as I found it, this was almost too sugary for me, though I did like the note of cinnamon that caps it off.

(Special hand-bottle sample from the brewers @ ACBF) Pours a black body with a small creamy beige head. Aroma of honey, molasses, roasted malt, and chocolate. Flavor of roasted malt, honey, and light coffee with a nice warming effect from the alcohol. Very interesting creation! Thanks Ryan and Matt!

I tried this at the Blues and Brews Festival. It was very dark with an thin creamy, off-white head. The aroma was very strong honey, coffee, molasses, sweet malt, and alcohol. The flavor was similarly sweet honey and alcohol. The palate was very thick-bodied. The finish was warm and sweet.

First one to rate this, woo! Very excited to get to try this at the Blues and Brews festival and many thanks to Ryan (frumpty) for letting me try itl. Pours a very thick black with a one finger creamy chestnut brown head. The nose is sweet, chocolate, honey, coffee, light alcohol. The flavor is also very sweet and thick, honey is very evident, chocolate, coffee, alcohol. Very smooth velvety mouthfeel and finishes warm, very very impressive braggot. Easily drinkable for 14%.
