Black with medium deep beige head. Vinious aroma with notes of wood, dark overripe fruits, chocolate and coffee. Flavour has bitter espresso, dark bitter chocolate, again wood and hard roasted malt. Very vinious deep and delicious. Finishes dry with niced balanced hops. I Like!

12 oz bottle: Aroma is dark..dark chocolate, very roasted malt characteristic, toffee, and a slight alcohol tinge. Appearance is pitch black with a thick sized tan head that lingers. Taste is thick and buttery. It is kind of unusual really thick, heavy on the tongue. It has got some roasted malt, heavy malt characteristic, heavy cream, and almost chewy. Overall, the aroma was awesome, appearance...great, but the taste and palate are a little off. Cheers!

Old bottle I had sitting around. Black. Lots of roasted malt with a fruity sweetness that tasted like cherries, perhaps? Booze was fairly noticable as this warmed, got a little tough to drink

Bottle thanks to riversideAK. Pours motor oil dark with nice sized tan head. Big hit of coffee on the nose. Flavor is dark roasted coffee, with hint of smoke and chocolate. Very rich and smooth texture with a nice warm alcohol finish.

Bottle. Pours an oily black with a small tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, dark fruit, coffee. Taste is the same as aroma with a touch of lactic sourness in the finish. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol.

Sampled at the Great Decatur Beer Tasting Festival in Georgia on 10/18/08. Ptich black in appearance. Sweet malt aroma. Taste of caramel, malt and cocoa. Some bitterness and tartness, which reminded me of a baltic porter.
