Pour black with a thin brown head. Toasty roasted aroma with some lactic sourness. Quite tart in flavor with mild cocoa. Rather thin in body. Low hop flavor and bitterness. Not my favorite.

12oz bottle, Thanks to CaptainCougar. Pours jet black, with a thin, espresso foam colored head. aroma is the smell of heavy malt extract syrup of deep roasted barley. Big coffee notes. Rich, robust, and roasty. Slightly acidic. Wow. lots of coffee flavors and coffee bean bitterness. Hints of chocolate. Lots of malty sweetness left, although still very balanced. Very heavy. very robusht. some heat in the finish. Now I see why this beer has always rated so well.

pitch black with dark brown head that disappears quickly.. a smell of hops and light malts with a thickness that’s not direct but promising of things to come... very smooth and almost no carbonation... just slides down your throat with VERY intense hops and some slight sweets... this is a great IRS, the most hoppy i’ve ever had, but if that’s what you like then you should definitely check this one out

A juggernaught of a beer. Aggressively malted aroma and flavor, this brew wears its alcohol content proudly on its sleeve. Pitch black with a thick present tan head, this brew had the expected roastly chocolate malt, but a nice oily mouthfeel. Aggressive flavor with a bit of earthy bitterness and tons of sweetness. The alcohol burns going down. Over the top, but well done. Had this on tap at Brixx in Greensboro NC.

Thanks to bitbucket! Black with chocolate ice cream brown head. Big, sweet aroma of rich chocolate and dark fruits. Lots of coffee, roast and chocolate in the taste. Big bite of bitterness and plenty of dark fruit. Very enjoyable and smooth for 10%. Yum.

From bottle : Pours very dark black with a thin brown head that dies out real quick. Very nice aroma of coffee, roasted malts, sweetness, and a little alcohol. Flavor is heavy, coffee, chocolate big time on the finish, and roasted malts. The chocolate flavor on the end sticks in your mouth for awhile, and has an alcohol warmth. Decently thick going down, but very smooth. Pretty solid Impy Stout.

12oz bottle pours black in glass with tan head that dissipates fast. Aroma is coffee, caramel, and overall sweet. Carbonation is non-existant and feels oily/watery in mouth. Flavor is dark roasted coffee with hints of chocolate some dark fruit sweetness. Has an alcohol burn but finished without an alcohol aftertaste.

Bottle, thanks to ucusty. Black pour with nice burnt caramel colored head. Aroma is chocolate milk and some roasted malt. Flavor is sweet milk chocolate, roast, and maybe some metallic dry-hopping. Finish is strange (nutty?) and the mouthfeel is a little off. Good flavor otherwise.
