Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, light soy sauce, alcohol, semi-sweet malt and mild smoke. Taste of roasted sweet malt, smoked sweet meat, alcohol, molasses and a weird off flavor. Finishes up with an artificial sweetness and some warming. wavers1 (173), novato, California, USA

Lots of mildy toasted malt. Molasses and subtle tones of chocolate and coffee. No real bitterness. Well joined up. RHeastings (419), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Enjoyed via draft in a whiskey snifter. The beer pours an opaque jet black with a deep tan head. Carbonation is medium-low, perhaps two volumes. The aroma is of dark chocolate, some high crystals, and a slight alcoholic tinge. The palate replicates these flavors, along with some milk chocolate, a bit of caramel, and unfortunately, a tidal wave of alcohol on the back end. The latter items takes away from the rest of the beer’s character, and evidences the need for longer aging. Overall, this is easily the best Duck Rabbit beer I’ve tried. Capa (993), Yokosuka, Japan
