Courtesy of mcox90, Thanks Michael! Poured a deep ruby colour with a small tan head. Nose is sweet, candy-like and some fruit. Initial taste of toffee, sweet malts and red berry. Moving into burnt caramel. Finishing warm & malty. Average palate duration. Medium body. Minor head retention. Overall interesting brew.

Bottle. Shared by a generous Ratebeerian at the PP Strong Ale fest 07. Burnt amber color with an ivory head. Warm roasted aroma with toffee and port notes. Sharp and fruity with dark fruit flavors. Very clean finish. Avery nice beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep, clear ruby. Medium sized, light brown head. Aroma of sweet toffee, butterscotch, some fruit notes. Beer is pretty thick as it sits in the mouth. Flavor is sweet malts with some earthy notes. Very little carbonation. Finish is a bit of smoked oak that lingers for a short time. Not a fan of the style.

Thanks to elmatador00 for this one. Pours a clear, deep ruby-amber with a small beige head with poor rentention and no lacing. The aroma emminates nearly a meter away from the glass, with sweet caramel malt, mollases , some dark pitted fruit and a touch of smoke n’ oak. The flavour was intensly malty and supported well by a viscous, creamy texture and soft, but present carbonation. Flavours of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, dried fruit, raisins, and oak make this brew very port-like. The hop presence is minimal, with only grassy, herbal notes distinguishable. The palate duration is a little short for how slick the mouthfeel becomes as it warms.

12 I’d bottle. Aroma is pretty much butterscotch and caramel with a small head. Tastes somehow strangely like a lollipop. Totally sweet but I like sweet scotch ales. High marks on this one.

Thanks to everyone that sent me bottles of this. Pour is amber with just a trace of an off white head. Nose of sweet fruit, malt and a somewhat brandy note. Flavor is very sweet with some booze. Finish is long. Medium bodied. Strange brew, not sure what to make of this beer.

Biscuit and sweet fruit nose with a bit of tobacco. Mildly sweet and herbal on the palate with good mouthfeel.
