12 ounce bottle from mreusch
Dark cherry red or "bright" brown. There’s a slight khaki ring around the edge. Carmel, sugary, and light toasted malts. Fruity esters come of like cherry, raisins, and a little bit of earthy hops. Truck loads of malty goodness. Sort of a fruit cake character. A nice dart of bitterness, and warm alcohol. Nice robust, and oily palate. Really a fine example if a Scotch Ale.

Thanks to juiceisloose! Big caramel malt nose, with a little bit of apple in there, some brown sugar. Pours a dark amber. Huge malt flavor, caramel malts, with hints of molasses, brown sugar and raisons, with a little dried fig and dates. There’s also hints of apple skins in the end. Very smooth!

Six pack from Total Wine in Huntersville, NC. Totally didn’t expect to find another seasonal Duck-Rabbit six pack in this store. 12 oz. bottle indicates best by 07/2008. Pours a nice dark caramel color with a very light head. Aroma is sweet with raisins and a touch of malt. Taste is sweet with malt and a little smoke. Very nice.

Bottle: Dark caramel, ruby hued, moderate to thin light beige head, falls rapidly, sparce lacing.   Best by date indicates 03/07.   My luck with these always seems to be just at the best by date or beyond.   Nose of carob, soft campfire, raisins, and peated malts.   Sweet malts on the tongue, some dark pitted fruit aspects, light ash and/or charred wood.   Some bisquity notes as well.   Fairly big in body, smooth mouthfeel.   Feels fairly rich, and by no means seems past prime.   A little warming, with some alcohol notes appearing as it warms.   Remains fairly sweet from start to finish, with a fairly good malt base.   Dark pitted fruit skin, raisins, and charred wood linger.   Probably one of the more flavorful Scotch style ales I have had in a while.   Thanks Jim for this one!

Aroma is pronounced candy with caramel. Color is cloudy brown with a medium golden head. Incredibly sweet, alcohol is evident. Very much like cough syrup, but with a thinner consistency. Weak and delayed but decent celery hop finish. Too sweet with nothing to balance it.

Pours a dark cherry-mahogoney colour with a whispish crowning head. Scotch barley toasty aroma. Medium plus mouthfeel, significant but not distracting carbonation. Sourish finish that worked good post spicey tasty pizza. Very drinkable and fresh, thanks to Drunkmonk. A new state.
