Poured dark red almost brown with creamy off white head. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt, and citrus. Taste was of sweet malt with fruit hints throughout. Had a little kick in the finish.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle via trade with Frumpy. Pours a dark caramel amber with a thin beige head that quickly dissolves to a fine film and ring. Aroma is complex with scents of ripe banana fruit, sweet caramel, peat and sweet taffy. Taste is medium to heavy body, very light carbonation with a peat flavor that causes a dry sensation on the tongue. Finish is semi sweet with a hard sugar candy flavor. The finish also has a dryness that even makes you thirsty for another glass. A very interesting scotch ale.

Thanks to dad for this. Body is a nice amber/brown color, with a thin off white head. Aroma is very malty, with dried fruit, caramel, and a light chocolate in the background. Taste is very fruity, dried cherries, dried cranberries, alcohol, toffee, caramel. Nice Scotch ale, almost like a lowkey Barleywine.

Bottle. Deep ruby red pour with a thin light brown head. Smell is sweet like cherry and grape laffy taffy with some spiciness thrown in. Immediately sweet on the tongue from mollasses and plum flavors but that ends with a dry and salty finish. Interesting how it switches character like that. Alcohol is slightly noticeable but a nice intro to the style.

[bottle, thanks Skyview] Pours ruby with a light yellow head. Aroma consists of slight peat, but is dominated by banana. Taste is very malty initially and is then followed up by what tastes like cherry hard candy. The finish is very dry, so dry in fact that just as Brewfiend and Olso2116 have said it does dry your mouth. One of the most unique Scotch ales I have ever had.

[Bottle, thanks Skyview] Pours red with a whitish yellow head. The aroma was of banana, some apple, and something else that I couldn’t identify. The flavor was sweet with caramel notes. Very dry, short finish.

Cloudy dark brown/amber pour with beige head and yellow hints. Caramel and banana on the nose. Sweet banana body with a hint of peat on the finish. Fruits in the body with a mouth parching effect. Unusual and not unpleasant. The finish had a very unique taste to it. But very different. Much thanks to skyview for sharing.

My Bottom Line:
A slew of fruit jams is meshed into the suave caramel malt display of this serene sipper of a Scotch Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam adorns the hazy red.
-This lacks body to be compared to the Corne de Brume’s of the Scotch Ale world.
-Carbonation is frothy yet soft, playing faithfully with the maltiness.
-Citrusy hops support, even lending some earthiness.
-An alcohol whisper soothes.
-The candied fruitiness is complex and evokes countless berries.

Bottle.
