Dark amber pour, with a red hue. Aroma is sweet with dried fruits. Flavor is nice, lots of maltiness, plums, alcohol finish. Nice full body. Pretty nice beer, not the best from DR, but not bad.

(bottle)poured into a snifter. pours a dark amber with full frothy head. has a whisky sour fruity aroma and the alchohol is present. taste is light in the front, fruity in the middle, with a whisky finish that sticks on the aftertaste. bannana seems present from the yeast. pretty good.

The aroma was malty with some higher alcohol presence. Dark fruits, raisins most notable and a bit of prunes, ruled with some chocolate presence. The beer poured clear amber brown with a tannish head which fell slowly to lace the glass. The flavor was malty and toasty and contained a strong complement of caramel and chocolate. The malt was deep and complex with some dark fruits, again raisins and prunes, and a definite presence of alcohol. With a full body and a moderate carbonation which was just lightly creamy though still viscous on the palate. Overall a very nice Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy. 12 ounce bottle.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, his bottle. Very dark brown with beige head. Lovely sweet malt aroma -nutty. Taste is great - nutty again, sweet, very nice brown sugar middle. Unique - Harry mentioned cereal grains, which sounds about right. Very slight hops at end. Alcohol present through out in background. A fantastic and right on style Scotch ale!

Bottle (courtesy of TURDFERGUSON). Apple cider vinegar, caramel, and prune juice aroma. Reddish amber color with moderate head. Sweet cherry/prune juice initially followed by a nice biscuit flavor - very much like a scone with raisins chased with a shot of rum. Aftertaste of spiked fruitcake. A nice sipping beer to enjoy on a cold evening.

Bottle (12oz). Shared with tupalev, my bottle via trade wih TURDFERGUSON. Poured deep clear bright chestnut with a smallish head (4-). Lush, sweet aroma of roast caramel malt, hints of toffee, milk chocolate, moderate wood-resin alcohol in the nose - and as redolent with oatmeal and fresh cereal grain as any I’ve sniffed; sweet nut oils as it warms. The taste has even less alcohol presence than the nose, hardly what you’d expect from 8% - very restrained - but there’s enough sweet nutty/yeasty/chocolatey roast malt here for anyone, with interesting hints of peat and woodsmoke in the finish, which is thick, sweet and very, very pleasing. Thick body, acceptable life to the mouthfeel, very quick finish, leaves a slight aftertaste of orange chocolate and mild leafy hop bitterness. An excellent easy-to-drink Scotch Ale - it would be a go-to beer for me.
