How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear golden-copper topped by a small off-white head
In long: Foresty hops on the nose with coniferous trees, birch trees and more. Body is adequately malted with just enough toasted caramelized malts to provide a decent body without being heavy. Hops are very woody, again like the nose it is more than the typical coniferous/pine-tree flavours. Here the hops feel woody at large. Also a citric astringency. I thought that this was a pleasant sessionnable APA that gained a few points because of a hop signature that manages to avoid the same-old-same-old. This is a Paramount Pale Ale presentation, any similarity to actual beers, currently distributed or retired, is purely coincidental.

Crisp dark amber body with a creamy beige head (3+) Interesting aroma, hoppy character is resiny with some earthy touches. (6+) Flavour is similar, mild resiny hops with green touches, mild malt base. (7+) Average palate. Nice, but the aroma less so than the flavour. A pleasant surprise nonetheless. Pours an almost hazy amber with a medium sized tanned white head. Aromas of toast and malt. Body is medium, with a light malt sweetness, and more of the toasted malt from earlier. Finishes with a nice crisp bitterness. This paired up quite nicely with the fried jalapeno and pickles.
