A straight forward but enjoyable Berlinner Weiss. Lemon sourness on top and a good chewy malt base. You know the drill, I won’t rattle on. Good beer. harrisoni (6830), Ashford, Kent, England

Light aroma of acid fruits. Tart fruits in flavour with prominent hints of kefir milk. Diluted texture. Drinkable, but really not my kind of beer. Awful to look at (London, 04.08.2009). (Funny - same beer, same location - different impression). It’s a light and clean and very drinkable beer. The first time I felt it was like a cloudy traditional lemonade, and that I actually preferred the lemonade to the beer. The second time my impression was more like a soft and very drinkable lambic - that is that it was refreshing and flavoursome.
I can understand why this beer is traditionally drunk with some fruit flavouring, as it can lack oomph. Interestingly, many years ago in Bristol and the surrounding "cider country", it was common for drinkers to have a drop of fruit juice/syrup (usually blackcurrant) in their cider. I picked up the habit and for several years in the 70s my favourite drink was "cider and black". I do feel that traditional British cider and lambic have a lot in common.
